The AT has three outlets, not the MT...from what I remember about my test drives. I own an MT, and it has only two outlets in the car...

That is correct. See page 2-23 of the G35 manual at:

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

OK, here are my nit picks mostly the same)
1) No memory seating- The absolute worst- my friends always ask to drive it and whenever you take it in for service or an oil change they always move the freaking seat. My biggest pet peave is the seat being moved.
2) The rear license plate holder- looks liek junk just ahnging off the back of the car like that- they should have made it flush inside the rear bumper like every other car. I think this really cheapens the look
3) The fact that other people buy the same car as me. haha
4) Thats all I can think of right now. I love this car to death, but since were talking about shortcomings- I threw in my 2 cents.

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

I read the entire thread, and I am surprised that no one made this one comment:

The car simply needs more sound deadening. Remember, this car is an Infiniti and is marketed for a more luxury oriented buyer. I never understood the fact that this car simply is a four seater 350Z with the same level of refinement. The car should have more sound deadening to block out all of that road and wind noise. That way, there would be a definite perceptual difference when driving the G over the 350Z.

That is my biggest complaint about the car because I think the noise that makes its way into the car makes the car seem a lot cheaper than BMW's or CLK's . . . With sound deadening material put in, it would defintely feel and sound like its on par with them.

I kind of agree that an Infinit needs to be more quiet than a Nissan. However, if too much sound deadening is put into the G, we wouldn't be able to hear its awesome exhaust note. I'll take that over Lexus-like quiteness.

nah, I was just jerking your chain, but logic would dictate they make it the same on both sides so the assembly is cheaper for both markets.

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

I know I already added my five shortcomings... but I have to add one thing...

Why the heck is HEATED seats standard? I mean of all things that is something they figured should be stock. Come on now. It isn't even like the coupe would handle for crap in the snow and such, it is a mild climate car.

I mean make it an option for people up north, but put the money into something else for the rest of us.

So I have the best car on earth that has heated seats and the crappiest fake titanium trim.

I'd like to burn the face of whoever made that decision right on the seat heater coil and then beat him with plastic trim.

Patience4G35:
I agree. The car definately needs more sound insulation.
The car exhibits to much wind/road noise. This is actually one of my major complaints with the car.
Someone else has questioned why heated seats are standard equipment. They are usually options on most cars, not standard - I would gladly forgo heated seats in favor of memory seats as standard!
One other item I find odd on the coupe is the operation of the window lock switch on the drivers door. On every car I have ever had, the window lock turns-off all power window switches except for the switches on the drivers door. On my coupe it locks all switches including the drivers door switches - what logic is there to that?
Anyway, these are all minor items. No car is perfect.
I love my G!!!!!!!

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

Every car you've had must have been American. I've noticed that's an interesting quirk between American and Japanese makes.. the window lock on Japanese cars locks all windows except the Driver's, while American cars lock all window switches except the Driver's.

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

Okay.. the long version.

American cars:
You lock the windows, and the driver's door window controls can still roll up/down all the windows. The controls on the other doors are not operative.

Japanese cars:
You lock the windows, and only the driver's window will go up and down. The other windows are not operative, even if you use the driver's control switches.

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

Thanks.....got it. But neither situation covers how my G operates!
Here is what my original questions was: on my coupe when you lock it, no windows operate.....even the drivers window is locked????? How useless is that??????
