think this will be a good race?

so this kid got a swapped 95 civic dx coupe:

-b18c1 gsr motor
-i/h/e
-gsr tranny w/ lsd, stock clutch
-no cat
-gutted w/ slicks
-tuned ecu

says he pushing 175+whp, killed a g35c from a dig but lost from a roll.

he wants to run me and give me 1 car length head start.

my 07 is stock. what do you guys think? i'm thinking it's a driver's race since my friend with a gsr with intake ran a 14.7, full interior crap rubber. all i know is that this kid i gonna be one light ****.

his lsd and slicks are going to eat you at the dig... at a roll it should be close but on slicks he should be trapping low 14's

How good of a driver are you and how good of a driver is he. Seems like he knows what he's doing by using an LSD and slicks. His car's a low 14 second car with the right driver, and so is yours, so its a driver's race. Seeing as you just got your 07, your shifting skills are going to be lacking just because you haven't had the car long enough. I would say practice for a few more weeks, and then take it to a strip

I dunno my brothers shop just built 2 gutted starlit's for two guys and they have engines with about 175 whp, was told they'll beat an a lancer evo in the wuarter mile. The honda weighs probably a little more than the starlit. I'm gonna say the honda wins, slicks, better tranny than ours

A 1995 Civic coupe weighs ~2500 lbs. This one is gutted which would put it well under 2000 lbs. When you try to compare cars use power-to-weight ratio and not just horsepower numbers.

So, 175+ horsepower at the wheels, light car, lsd, tuned and slicks? Doing the math, it should be pretty close. And from seeing civics race on the track, that civic with that setup should be running 13s easy. I wouldn't bet a lot of money on you winning.

i've seen some of these crazy civics running at the track, and they pull some pretty crazy numbers.

ummmm, screw head starts. what the hell is that all about? you guys watch too much "Pinks", (which is really gay I might add). It will definitely be a good race, and just think, you have still all of your luxury amenities and interior still in your car and you should still be able to kill him.

even "fully" street gutted, (black tar, carpet, seats, panels, headliner) the coupe will still come in 2200 to 2300 lbs.. Just because he has LSD doesn't mean that he knows what he's doing, I seen alot of idiots swap motor and not even know what the hell they really had. A hatch with that motor/tire combo should pull high 13 with a good driver. Coupe will pull 14's, I seen a gutted integra, with all that pull 13.8.

i ran a swapped civic over the weekend about 5 times. Hes got a 92 hatch with a 2000 gsr motor in it,i/h/full exhaust. I got a 06at coupe. it was pretty much dead even, on like 3 outta the 5 races i pulled very little on top end. We mainly hit it from like a 30-45mph roll

if we do race, we're gonna take it to the tracks. forget the streets, can't really conclude anything.

as for head starts, he's the one who mentioned it and heavily insists i take it because he's confident he will eat me. he wants to race for gas money for fun..lol
