Easy and quick solution to unsightly holes in the front bumper made by the dealer
Hey everyone,
After reading many threads and checking out multiple "bumper plug" websites, it hit me that there is a really easy way to fix the front bumper hole problem. Just pick up couple of chrome or plastic license plate screw and caps from your local auto part store, pep boys, auto zone, etc. Then, paint it with your car's color touch up paint, and assemble it onto the holes and you're done. You could also just leave the chrome, depending on your taste.
Details:
You'll need:
1. screw and cap assembly
2. Infiniti/Nissan touch up paint
3. 2 terry cloths or small garage hand towels
4. blowdryer
5. screwdriver
Procedure:
1. Place one chrome cap on the terry cloth and apply a thin layer of paint on top and around it. The cloth will help keep the cap steady and you won't get the paint on your clothes, floor,...
2. Leave the first cap aside to dry and do step #1 with the second cap.
3. Use the blowdryer to dry the first cap. Be careful that the cap doesn't fly away.
4. After the paint is dried, apply another coat. Repeat this step for the second cap.
5. Then, just assemble the whole thing onto the front bumper.
You don't need much artistic abilities, just apply the paint one layer at a time. It looks professional and very easy to do.
I just did this today, so I don't know how well the touch up paint will hang on to the chrome cap. It's so easy to do that I don't mind repainting every couple of weeks. Anything to hide those holes.
Good luck
