which engine is best?

the nissan VQ v6 series. (used in new skylines/g35)

the nissan RB I6 series. (used in the older skylines)

better as in anything

yeah my brother thinks the new VQ is better because they are newer. i disagree i think that the japenese inline six will as of right now, is the better engine

yeah. i think the rb is **** compared to the 2 JZ. but since were comparing nissan engines. i think the VQ engine didint have enough time to mature and open up yet. as for the rb and the 2 jz those things are power monsters. my brother thinks because the VQ engine is better cause its "newer" and hes arguement is why would nissan downgrade to a less "better" engine. ill tell you why, cause nissan is ****ing retarded

It's shorter from front to rear, costs less to manufacture, weighs much less...They were not as strong until the VQHR changed the bottom end and now (07 G35 sedan 07 350Z),
I hear the new VQHR can handle as much pounding on the bottom end as the RB, but that remains to be seen.

RB can be a more powerful engine potentially with less money, the VQ makes up for it with its lightweight.

IIRC, the VQ series has been around for more than ~12 years or so - on top of that been on Ward's top ten since then.
