I picked up a x50 blue display from a local guy for 250 and i love it. I have Mike's mount with the invisicord and i wouldnt trade it for anything else. The V1 and the x50 are neck and neck as far as performance. I did a lot of reading before i bought my x50 to make sure that it was one of the best.

The x50 has increased range, especially on the Ka band I think.

I have the 8500 and my only complaint is that my G sets of the laser alert when I use the windshield washer. I thought it was just a fluke but it does it every time. Anyone else?

No, you can just turn off the laser if it bothers you that much.

I have the X50 and can pick up the CHP a good distance out. Very few false alarms. 99% of the cop in the San Diego area use Ka band radar...X50 loves this band...No ticket in the last 1.5 years, maybe I'm just lucky...

If you have the spare dough, V1 all the way.

A standard 8500 will do you just fine if you're on a budget though. Not the most protection, but plenty.

I would agree with JadeRaven! If you can fork out the extra go with the v1! It wont let you down
