Clutch and Flywheel Problem

I have a 04 G35, I purchase the RPS Flywheel Clutch Combo. My mechanic installed everything, but now the car won't start. We have replaced the sensor that reads the flywheel, but still won't start. Has anybody had this problem or know what might be the problem??? ACT makes the RPS Flywheel, I've talked with them and no one else has had this issue.

well its def. your clutch imo. If your clutch isnt installed correctly, the system wont be able to read it and as a result the car wont start.

id go back to your mechanic and talk with him about it

good luck

Try talking to one of the service techs at Infiniti and maybe they can give you a heads up or have your mechanic call them.

He doesn't have the flywheel in the correct position. On the JWT it specifically will not allow you to install it in any position other than the correct one so that this doesn't happen. I.e. the same flywheel is used for the G as the Maxima, but there are two different alignment holes depending on which car it is for. When you buy the G version, they fill in the Maxima hole so that you cannot install it at the wrong degree.

My mechanic mentioned that this is something inexperienced mechanics screw up on. It the flywheel teeth are not where they are supposed to be, the car won't start. This has nothing to do with the clutch.

My mechanic seems to be certain that the Flywheel cannot be alligned differently than what it is suppose to. I called the Infiniti dealership and they said the Flywheel can go in only one way. Is it just the Flywheel I have? The car doesn't even crank over nothing happens when you turn the key. I remember before that if the clutch isn't pushed all the way down when you turn the ignition nothing happens, I wonder if somthings wrong in that aspect...

I called RPS and they said that the Flywheel can only be aligned one way, but it seemed that the person I talked to didn't know all that much.

If my mechanic removes the sensor the car will start after like three attempts, when it is started all seems to be functioning well with the new Flywheel / Clutch.

I know some cars have a switch/button/lever under the clutch pedal, that has to be depressed fully for the car to start. My buddy had an RX-7 wit this problem, after working on the clutch pedal, it was not hitting the switch when the clutch was all the way down. I not sure if our cars have this, just a thought though.

I agree...check and adjust the clutch pedal...if it does not hit the switch it wont turn over

I just talked to my mechanic and I was misinformed. The car does turn over, but will not start. He's checking the Flywheel to see of there is any sort of damage to it...

Just picked up my car. I guess the problem had to do with the flywheel, one of the rings on it was bent. RPS said it could have happened during manufacturing or my mechanic, but there's no telling how.

Finally I got my g back, it feels so good to drive it. Anybody else have the RPS Flywheel Clutch? How's it working for you?
