G-Tech Accurate?

Calibrate what though? I went through the menus and there is nothing to calibrate. All you can calibrate is how many cylinders, rpm, weight and if you have an aftermarket starter.
What do you mean the charger srt8?

Of course I am happy with my car already but I just wanted to see what it could do. My friend SRT8 is pretty crazy, its really fast. Anyways I will try running the quarter mile and let you guys know what it does.
The Gtechs need to be programmed for each vehicle it's put in, you put the weight of your car and a few other parameters. I put in as accurate #'s as possible and then I went to the track......it was off by only 0.1-0.2 seconds. I was impressed.....but that info means nothing if not calibrated.

If you only want timed acceleration runs, and nothing else, you only need to hit the calibrate button when you first stick it on your windshield. From that point, it will self-calibrate at the start of each run.
The ONLY reason to enter the other info like weight, CD, etc. is to do other calculations like HP. All that info will not affect timed runs from a standstill, with the exception of 'roll out' which is pre-calculated. The only time you might change roll-out is if you are using non-standard tires like racing slicks, etc.

I have the Escort GT2 ....I just realized you guys were only talking about GTech!
Sorry! Picked it up on Amazon for $85!
They should both work the same anyway, if only talking about acceleration from a stop.

Ok so I ran it again and this time I ran the quarter mile on it. It showed I had a 0-60 of 4.5 or so and a quarter mile of 12.5 or so. Not sure why this is happening but it works in my friends jeep and shows what times he should be getting... anyone know why?

there are several parameter affect 0-60 & 1/4 time, for example you can set delay time etc. Without a track calibration, it's useless.
I think you have to take your car to the track & compare slip to the G-tech #s ,
change settings & run again until you get to within 0.1 from slip.
I have to do that 5-6 runs to have my G-timer get to be 0.1 away from slip,
onse set, it's pretty accurate. Otherwise, I could get 1" faster than slip just to play with the settings.

There isnt much I can change on mine. I have the G-Tech SS or whichever one it is. Like I have said before many times... all I can change is the RPM redline, weight, and how many cylinders I have. You can just take the G-Tech and put it into another car and it will give you 0-60 and quarter mile without any calibration. The only thing the calibration does is it is supposed to give you your horsepower rating. So I dont know whats going on... maybe it is broken...
