Yeap...another Extended Warranty thread

Now, dont be mad. I searched and found some threads that were along the lines of what I'm about to ask...but they only answer partial questiong. Plus, its 07, so something might have changed.

I have 04 AT Coupe with almost 34K miles. Car was purchased in 08/03, so original warranty will be over in 7+ months. I stopped by local Infiniti dealership (Santa Clara, CA) and they said:
A: there's no more 100K warranties - only 60K. And its only 60 months (5 years)
B: Quoted me at $2200ish for that 60month/60K warranty with $100 deductible OR $2500ish for same 60 month/60K but with $0 deductible.

This was official Infiniti quote.
Friend has a dealer (small dealership of used cars) who quoted me $1819 for 60month/100K warranty w/$100 deductible or $1950 with $0 deductible.

I hear prices will go up for ex. warranties in 07 and that I will have to pay bit more after my car goes over 35K miles.

Questions: (for those who know, becuase I'm short on time and dont have time to do research) Some people in other posts said you can purchase extended warranty from any Infiniti dealer in the US. True or False?

Prices I got - any good?

Buying from non-Infiniti dealer - makes a difference when I bring my car to the dealership for work?

THanks everyone.

PS: if you're a dealer, please send me a quote

First, I would double check with the purchase date, dont think the 04's came out in 8/03.

Second, keep in mind that Infiniti also have 6 year/70k powertrain warranty, which should cover most expensive items.

Yea, it was purchased at the end of August (i double rechecked and all...i think it was the first one off the factory floor). But does powertrain cover all those bose and power/heated seats w/windows that keep on having problems (reading from these boards)

PS: Admin, can you please move this to G Spot forums. I might get more responses this way, but dont want to create new thread there. THanks.

Where did you get it from. Is that a bumber to bumber cost? Can i negotiate on warranty price with the dealer or is it what they give...?

I got it through Grubbs Infiniti in Texas. What you can do is call around various dealerships and try to negotiate a deal. This is waaay easier than negotiating on cars because the dealer is selling a service rather than a product. As long as it is a Nissan warranty, every dealer is bound to service you even though you didn't get the extended warranty there.
