05 G35 vibration

Ok,

Let me first start off by saying my other car is an 06 sti... I just picked up this 05 g35 coupe... with a 6spd.

I testdrove it, and gave it throurough looking over and I gotta say the thing looks/sounds/feels like a *BRAND NEW* car. I mean spotless, in mint condition.

After driving it home the approximately 250mi, I noticed an odd noise... driving around it sounds good, but sounds like a vibration if I rev it over say 4krpms. It s only as the engine decelerates in rpms, and I hear it if I am getting on it (between shifts). It only makes the noise when I let off the gas, like as in engine winding down. Oil level is good, and smells/looks real good and fresh...

As far as mechanically, I dont know if theres any problem. Motor appears to be balanced just fine, and no way I'd think it'd sounds like valves or anything like that...

The car is still in warranty, so I am sure I could have whatever it was fixed. I just wanted to take a look over, since nearest infiniti dealer is 100mi away.

Car has 13k mi on it...

I know its all pretty vague, but I thought perhaps there was a common problem I could check for? Is the intake supposed to have some play, or if mounted correctly should it be pretty firmly in place?

Thanks for taking the time to review.

I think it's just intake noise or something, if I understand you correctly I think mine does the same thing, it is a very different noise from any other car I have driven but I think it sounds pretty cool. Nothing to worry about, but if you still are worried, just have someone at the dealer listen.

Same thing happens to my car as well, i have a JWT intake installed i dont know if thast the cause of it but it seems that many people have this same vibration. They say its because the stick is connected directly to the tranny. Anyway half the time people put these posts up they say man up and dont be a ***** its a sports car. So dont worry about it its normal.

picture that comes to my mind is a peice of plastic or alunimum rattling against metal. I mean I am scared to rev. How high do you guys rev, I dont see a "redline" and dont beleive I've hit a rev limiter.

I guess if nobody can think of a reason why I might be seeing this, perhaps I will try and get a clip, or something... and if nothing more, and I am still convinced there is a prob I will take it to a dealer.

I've always thought the VQ engine vibration was excessive, but I'm at 68K now in an 04.5 6MT GC and have grown accustom to it... What your explaining is probably nothing but I would compare it to another 05-07 6MT just to be sure... The VQHR engine in that new sedan is much smoother than the VQs we have now, including the rev-up which is just slightly smoother than the non-rev up as far as harmonic vibration is concerned...
