Ecu

Would you be able to put an ecu from a manual transmission onto an automatic tranny?

What would the major difference be?

Mine apparently is defective and that is the only one I could find seeing as my car is no longer on warranty!

I say no.

If indeed the two are different animals, I would think the manual unit would not have any control functions for the automatic transmission for starters.

No, sorry, it will just never work that way... Why are you wanting to do this anyway?
