Wheels

Damaged? Bent, scratched, gouged? I'd Perry Mason this one out! Something had to be hit to damage the wheel! There should be some kind of residue at the damage sight paint, concrete, etc.Any scuff marks on the tire? If wheel is bent have it aligned to check for susp.or steering linkage damage. And go directly to the owner then to BB bureau.Hope things work out!

Just tell them they did it and if they won't pay get the name of their insurance carrier. If you wanna be a real d!ck, call the police there for hitting your car........they won't want that attention.

Just casusally ask them to repair or replace the wheel or tell them they will be hearing from your attorney.

As always, and this can't be stressed enough, do a walk-around with a service guy BEFORE you let them do anything on your car. Ask them if they see anything that shouldn't be on there (dents, scratches, etc.). I've done this 3 times with the stealership I went to: The scratch my bumber (they repainted it, removed the rock chips, and it looks good too now), scratch my rim (fixed it and can't tell where the scratch was at), and broke a little plastic piece that is on the lower side of the drivers seat (they fixed on their own). I know it's too late for it now, but maybe for future M&R on the car.

Just how bad is it?

Exactly. I have the service manager note my ticket with "no damage noted" or some agreeable wording before I turn over the keys.

I had to take my right rear tire in for repair this past weekend. I pulled the tire and put on the spare, then washed ans polished the rim, then took pictures before I went to the shop.

Once there, I had the manager (not the tech) inspect the rim and note the work order. Then I spoke with the tech. The maintenance was done, and not a mark was put on the rim. To top it off, the manager didn't charge me for the repair because I pulled the tire myself.

It's a pain in the butt and it makes you feel a little awkward doing it. Sometimes the service people get offended, but I try to be patient and polite - a 'nothing personal' approach. It's worked well for me so far.

Talk to the boss. Is it a chain or a mom and pop?

Please don't be one of those retards that use the " ...you will be hearing from my attorney." That is got to be the stupidest line for this type of problem. This problem is relatively minor to call an attonery.

Talk to the manager or even the owner. For a small shop like that the owner should be there and if he's a respectable business man he will want to make things right. You have make a good case and don't BS him. If he's a jerk about it just say you will posts negative adds on Craigslist and G35driver, and then call the BBB (better business bearau) reporting his shop is shady. That will make him think twice, trust me. Just be nice and honest first then use the threat when all else fails. Hope that helps...
