Re: Wing or No?

The car definitely has cleaner lines without the wing. Some cars look better with a spoiler, but I don't think the G35 coupe is one of them.

It's here!!! '04 G35 Coupe DG/G/5AT/Prem.

Re: Wing or No?

Just to clarify as original author of this thread -- I meant to say "stock rear spoiler".

Sorry for the confusion.

I just bought my graphite/graphite coupe off the lot and, while I probably would not have ordered the aero package it came with, I gotta say the spoiler on looks is really growing on me.

Re: Wing or No?

In my opinion, it all depends on the car and on the specific spoiler. Some cars just meant to have spoilers, and some don't. The coupe would look really nice with a spoiler, depends which though... - definitely not the stock one. That stock spoiler just looks like a dead cat laying on the trunk lid, and gives the coupe that ricy look. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against spoilers. My previous car was a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE, and there is no way I would have purchased that car without the spoiler. It took a car that was pretty ugly and made it ok looking(that was the least). Now, if you take the Gialla spoiler like some of the folks here suggested - now you're talking. But definitely not that stock spoiler. It's just way too big for that car, and looks retarded.
Then again, this is just my personal opinion, and I do not want to inflame anyone here. If I were you (and also taking my wife out of the equation...), I would get my coupe a nice Gialla spoiler.
I don't regret a bit for not getting the Aero package. The coupe looks much more classy without it.
Just my 2c...

Re: Wing or No?

I think the wing adds beauty to the car. I refused to get a couple unless it got a wing...

I like the wing. But as many have said it looks great either way.

Re: Wing or No?

When these cars first came out my dealer had 6 coupes on the lot. Only 1 had a spoiler. I thought it looked best without the spoiler, Now, many months later most on the lot have a spoiler. I chose my black coupe with a spoiler, but I think its a good looking car either way, unlike some that need it to complete it.

Re: Wing or No?

I don't know why some of you think the stock spoiler is so ugly; I think the car looks ugly w/out it; haha... Anyway, the only sporty car I've seen that looks good w/out a spoiler is a Corvette. I hate ricey "wings" though (especially if they don't match the body color of the car they're on), just like someone else here mentioned. Every time I see those on ANY car, I just laugh and/or shake my head in shame

Re: Wing or No?

Of course, it's just a personal preference. But I think by not having a "wing" gives the coupe a much smoother streamline. But hey, that's just me. I think the "wing" looks better on the 4 door sedans.

Re: Wing or No?

I didn't want the rear spoiler or the aero pkg, but because I didn't want to wait a few weeks, I decided to buy what the dealer had in stock....besides, the car was exactly what I wanted (6mt, diamond graphite/graphite, prem pkg) except for the aero pkg.
at first, I didn't really like the way it looked with the rear spoiler...wanted to get an aftermarket wing.
but I have to tell ya that it's been really growing on me and now I'm glad I got it.
a friend of mine has an 04 G coupe AT in white/willow without the rear spoiler and, when we park side by side, people seem to like my car more than his and I've got quite a few compliments on the rear spoiler.
so....yes, the rear spoiler enhances the look of my G...IMO.
peace!
