Wing or No?

Question for the Board (and hope this hasn't already run):

In terms of JUST looks, do you prefer the wing (aero) or Not?

Re: Wing or No?

I had a Sedan B4 the coupe and it had a wing which I really thought suited it.
My Coupe has no wing because I prefer it without.
Having said that, I saw drsifu's Gialla spoiler and liked it.
Here's his ride:

Re: Wing or No?

I had the same question when I was looking. I decided against as I figured I could add it later. After my decision I actually like it better without. Look in the rides section at the G's with the color you want to compare. Can't go wrong either way.

Re: Wing or No?

How the wing is like a flat piece attached flush onto the trunk just kills it for me. It looks like a tumor or something. If you want something to spice up the rear end. 2 words: Gialla Wing.

That is for the coupe of course. The sedan wing is pimp. The coupe without wing looks so much more elegant as a vehicle. Up to you though, I'm sure there are owners who would argue that the wing completes the vehicle. There are plenty of aftermarket options if you don't get it. Its harder to find a swap to get rid of the wing, then to add it.

Re: Wing or No?

My coupe has the wing and in my opinion the car looks better with the wing. Either way the car looks good, but to me the wing makes the car look sportier.

Re: Wing or No?

I think certain color looks better with spoiler~
CB, LS, OB

Some looks better without the spoiler~
DP, TB, IP

Some can go either way~
BS, DG

Now if you are talking about WING as in aluminum or anything double decker.... then I would have to shake my head.

wings only belong on planes, birds, and maxi pads. j/k.

i agree with afsarzad. the spoiler brings a sporty look. with or without, the coupe is still a beauty of a car.

Re: Wing or No?

I think the "proper" term to use here is "rear spoiler." I personally think the G coupe looks naked without it and if I had to buy one without it, I would have had one put on. To each his [or her] own, as they say.

Re: Wing or No?

Definitely looks like something is missing if you don't have the spoiler. Plus you can feel the difference when you're going 140+ mph...

The G has one of the nicest factory spoilers around. Another car that comes to mind that has a nice factory spoiler is the 911. They look boring without their spoilers too...

Like anything else it all comes down to personal preference...

Re: Wing or No?

where can you buy the Gialla spoiler? Is it possible to just buy the spoiler or do you have to get a package?
2. Do you think the stock spoiler looks better or the Gialla spoiler?

Re: Wing or No?

I think the wing really sets the sedans apart from the rest of the sea of look-alike sedans that all have the same basic lines (BMW, Honda, Toyota, VW, et. al. Without it they are more of a sleeper if that's your thing.

Re: Wing or No?

We have this sound off every once in awhile, and there's plenty of support for both sides on the Coupe, plus decent support for going the aftermarket route.

Personally: hell no to the stock spoiler. And hell no to anything that could accurately be described as a "wing."

Re: Wing or No?

I like the wing on both the sedan and the coupe, I think they give the car good character and a clean appearance without degrading to a "jza80 supra" look.

Re: Wing or No?

Whatever you do, please don't put a true wing on the car. Now the factory spoiler is okay, but I hate all wings! I always laugh my A$$ off when I see a Corrolla, Camry, Cavalier, Civic, VW, or Accord with one. Stickers make me laugh too. Apparently the more stickers you have, the more HP you have??? Just went off on a tangent, but I think the G looks best without a spoiler (or wing). Much more refined look.
