curbed tires???

Well long story short... Driving home at 1am. While avoiding an accident I hit a little lane devider and curbed a small part of my rim in .5 inch. It made a tiny cut in my tires. I was wondering if I could glue the piece of tire back on so it looks better. or would it not stick? Hope this makes sense.

It won't stick. And, if its a deep enough gash, you may want to check into getting it replaced. Any type of sidewall damage is very bad.

Hi mary,
well i dont know about gluing back your tires....? better use some type of strong super super SUPER glue. cause with the force the tires have when in motion. the tire is going to have to flex and bend so i say it wont do if you glue. what did you hit???

Gorilla Glue? It can bond metal.

You know how somtimes when you make a left turn. they have this small cement thing that seperates the left turn on and regular straight lanes. I'll just go outside right now and take a picture.

Yeah, but that bonded metal isn't spinning in excess of 800 RPM. It may not sound a lot, but the centrifugal force that is applied is.

here's my tires. sorry for the horrible pictures. for a brand new $400 camera, the quality sucks!

I'm pointing at the tire thats not fully attached. I just want it glued back on.

I'd be mad if I need new tires just because of this since my tires only have 500 miles on them.

I'm saying that it may hold for a bit. But, it'll come off if you were try to glue it there. And, when it does come off, it'll be a 70+mph projectile.

Try using the macro function. It should be the button that looks like a little flower. That should make things clearer when taking closeup photos.

Mary had a little bobo on her tire...........

If your pictures were better we might be able to tell if you took a picture of
your tire or the neighboors dog........haha. Mary if you chunked your tire out
it needs to be replaced. Sidewalls are very critical because they flex
constantly and if damaged could cause a blow-out......better to be safe
than..............you know! My little sister lives in Silverdale...nice area but
terrible weather.

Thanks for showing me the macro button. Here's some better pics.

I took it to Costco and they ordered me a new tire for FREE. It's covered under warranty as a road hazard.
I'm so excited for this week. Finally putting on my springs and my rims!
