Coilovers to Springs - Really going backwards?
Coilovers to Springs - Really going backwards?
Hey guys,
Just want to get some opinions. I just sold my TEIN FLEX's and i'm thinking about switching to the TEIN CS's. But i'm also considering just stepping backwards and just going with the 350Z H-Techs. I know everyone's all hyped up about coilovers, but would I really be stepping back THAT much if i just switch to springs??
I mean, i think the EDFC is sick as hell, but honestly the entire time i've had the system in, i rarely even touched a button.......until i gave one of my friends a ride and showed it to them. It seems like it's more of a show off tool as opposed to something functional you would use on a daily basis.
I guess it would be different it my G was mainly used as a track car, and you really could use the realtime adjustments, but i just want my car nicely lowered and still handle like a charm, and at least in my opinion, the stock suspension can seem to handle pretty damn well. I'd rather see the money going towards performance like high flow cats or a new flywheel. So is going from coilovers to springs really that much of a step back?

So in your reference you're relating to the drop of the ride, not the performance.
I'm not looking for an agressive drop because i'm over scraping everywhere, i almost had it on the highest(height) setting on the FLEX's and it sat perfectly. I saw some pics of the 350z H-Techs and it seems to be what i'd be down with ride-height wise.
If that's your ride in the avatar then that's perfect IMO.

Doesn't look bad. For me, that ride-height would work because where i live, my car too low will take out my front bumper and exhaust tips unmercifully.
