I agree, put down your deposit with a credit card. If something goes wrong (missing option packages, wrong color, etc) it'll be easier to dispute and get your money back. Using a card with sky miles or cash back rewards is another plus.

my dealer asked for $500. Got them to come down to $300 (refundable).

Actually, Orlando is $500. I ordered one through Orlando Infiniti.

Re: Need a deposit when ordering?

Strange, I talked to both Donny and Brian at Orlando Infiniti. $1000/deposit. Would have went there or haggled my local dealer if it was lower. Maybe it was because I wanted cloth seats, I didn't want hot leather. (No shade parking where I work unless you want a dozen bird droppings everyday.)

infiniti of syracuse is telling me 2k to order one. i have spoken to dorchel in rochester and another dealer in albany and they said $500 and $1000. i believe syracuse made mention that it was not refundable, but i don't recall for sure.

Funny you mention hot leather. I live in AZ, so I keep a black towel (matches my leather) on my seat to sit on. It works well, I haven’t been burned yet.

$100 and refundable. Its nothing more than for your benefit. If the dealer only wants $2000 and its non refundable, go elsewhere.

Ventural:

What a coincidence! I ordered the cloth also because my car sits outside all day at work and I refuse to park under a tree. I just hope I'm not sorry that I didn't order the leather.

I can't imagine why they would tell you a $1000 deposit, unless they recently changed their policy. I ordered mine the first week of October.

Re: Need a deposit when ordering?

wow perfect timing for this topic
i just stopped by park ave infiniti in englewood, nj
the dealer said i probably need to put down around $250 deposit for the car to be on order.
i plan on stopping by either friday or saturday to actually give him the money. besides it being refundable or non, is there any way i can get screwed over later on? i was told i don't need to sign anything or pay any part of the car until the car arrives. is that true? i'm also a first time buyer and plan on financing.
i stopped by ramsey once, they were complete a$sholes. my park ave dealer said he'll treat me right. but i can't get anything off msrp -_-
