If I were you (and I'm not, because I had nothing like a G when I was a kid) I'd leave it alone and work for my future - not for a set of expensive wheels. There will be plenty of time for that (and much more) when you're stable and out on your own.

Enjoy it!

thanx i will def keep that order in mind. for a lot of the stuff like tint, body kit, audio, i have "connections" so i can get them VERY cheap. and im in AZ which has one of the highest min wage in the country at 6.75$ so im a lil lucky hehe exhaust, rims, and i forgot to mention the aftermarket navi wid the d/d upgrade i wanna get (avic z1 heck yes!!). lol, seems like the ist just seems to be getting bigger. but no worries i am not an unrealistic person, i know my limits and when its enough. any of you guys know a good job in AZ? haha

dude, should work at a car shop... at least you can probably hook up some deal with people there, im thinking of getting some cheap but nice looking rims like rays G-games 77 Wolf 2-piece, don't know if they are good or not, but i thought they look pretty sexy for some rims that cheap. go check it out @ discount tires

I hate when people say that. There is nothing satisfying about paying for the damn car. Out of HS my parents bought me a G20. I just graduated college and i bought my G35. Granted this car feels like chump change im spending, but i'd love to have that change back in my pocket and have my parents footing the bill.

I would feel more reward by investing 40k in index funds and stocks and either seeing in grow or crash. Speaking of that i'm workin on my parents freeing up 30k for the next 5 years so i can do something along those lines. My parents raised me to always think about the future. So if i can use their money for me to make money and salidify a future for myself why not?!?!?!.

My kids if i feel they have a good head and i;ve taught them a lot they will get a G or maybe a Cayman or the equivalent 20 yrs from now.

And to the OP..save up and spend on quality. Might take longer but it will be a better reward.

^^ Also there are other things you can budget too. In college i used my jobs to pay for motorcycles and partying which are my luxuries. And then rent my last 2 yrs my parents slowly had me pay a little more each yr until the final months i paid it in full. Explain why you should MAKE your kid spend $600 on living a year. I think in most scenerios the kid will be hurt more than anything. And hurt is relative of course.

i dont think each family is the same, being able to give kids the best parents can is something i dont contest especially when there is no negative effect on them. im sorry that everyones parents didnt have the same opinion.
