What should i get?

Hey guys. i will hopefully be getting a G coupe in a few months, and i really want to make it look nice. the thing is, I am in HS and my parents will buy the car for me, and i love them for that, but they wont give me the money to hook it up. So i though why not get a job and save money and do it myself. Obviously i wont me making very much money working P/T at best buy or something so i figured i would have maybe $1500-$2000 saved up for rims by the time i get the G. i was wondering what are good rims i can get for that. Everything i seem to find is like 5-6k. i wanted 19x9r and 19x8f. what are some good rims?

I would leave it stock.

If you're still in HS, your too young to mod a G.

Wait, you're too young to own a G!

Im pretty young myself, but got my G last year right when I began my University semester.

I say either save up the money, and use it for anything else. Or pay for the car yourself

Trust me, it's not worth working only to mod your G.

There are more important things than that.

Look through the threads and classified section for wheels. Most members here always sell wheels and you may get lucky and get a good deal. Lucky you...I wish my parents would've brought me a G

There's nothing more satisfying than paying for the car yourself. As long as you can easily make the payments without any pressure.

I just don't like the idea of parent's giving away expensive cars to their children.

When you pay for your own car, you feel the responsibilities of paying your bills on time, and having a budget (if needed).

sahib,

Just curious. Have you even had any driving experience?

By experience, I dont mean 1 month.

If I were you, I'd drive around something beat up for the first 6 months before you go with anything big.

I really dont wanna see you create a thread about how you totalled the G, or damaged it . The G's are too nice for that sort of drama

don't mod it

at all..

trust me, you're not gonna want to spend money on this car unless you do it right. and when you do it right, let's say spend 3000 on wheels.. you're gonna regret it.
been there, done that.
you'll be going to college soon (im assuming) and you're gonna want to spend it on different things. the stock 19's are beautiful as is.
don't even touch it.. just keep it clean.

what you're saying right now is wrong about modding it, and trust me.. you will regret putting cheap wheels on it.
and it takes more than just slapping on wheels.
you will want to lower it, that costs a lot of money. (camber and toe kits, springs/coilovers, LABOR!)

trust me, you're not gonna want to spend money on this car unless you do it right. and when you do it right, which consists of getting the mod bug and getting wheels, kit, drop, and turbo and you cant make that revenue in 4 years
been there, done that.
you'll be going to college soon........jst get wheels and call it a day......save up around 3k for a new set or 2400 for used

i've been driving for a year (legally at least) with my moms car so its not like im a new driver or anything. and i've driven the g35c a number of times also, my best friend has it so im not new to the G either. and the rest of you guys are right about not ging with anything cheap so saving up fo a lil longer i'll get a nice set of rims, i wanted to make the G look nice before i get to college because i dont want to focus my time and money on the car while im in college. im into cars so i wont be abe to stand it not doing anything to it. and i dont plan on doing anything major like TT or SC. exhaust, intake, rims, lowered, and other than that minor stuff like clear corners, LED lights, etc.

Congrats on the new ride.

Understood about wanting to set your ride apart, but take it slowly. As you work, put a little money aside for that rainy day - you'll be glad you did later.

If I were you (and I'm not, because I had nothing like a G when I was a kid) I'd leave it alone and work for my future - not for a set of expensive wheels. There will be plenty of time for that (and much more) when you're stable and out on your own.

Enjoy it!

I paid for each and everyone of my cars that I have owned. I paid for my G as well. I mean if his parents are willing to do that for him then more power to them. I mean when I have kids I am going to give them the world along with responsibilities.
