Lease rate problems with dealer!

I've been dealing with the dealer for a week now. I see that some of you have gotten a really good rate, some of which are close to what is quoted on the Infiniti internet. I've been told that credit Tiers 1/2/3, all qualify for the same rate. The rates that the dealer is giving me is about $60 a month off from where I'm at(internet rate). I'm not looking to buy because I want to see what they do to the car in 3 years or so. I would just like to know are some or you guys or girls getting rates close to the internet's rates? I don't know all of the factors but, I do have a copy of my "Lease Worksheet" done up by the finance guy. It's seems that we are stuck on the "money factor" since they are not trying to budge off of the msrp. I don't know what money factor should be but, he has me at .003. When I first got there today he had me at .00360. I was going to put down $4000 or $5000 but, now what I may do is put down nothing or as little as possible. I am thinking about taking that $4000 or $5000 and opening an account with it, just to pay the car note with. If the car note is $150 more than what I want pay it should last me 33 months with the $5000 in that account as a cushion. I would still feel like the dealer has gotten over because I am paying what they want not what is fair. This dealer is really making me look at the 350Z (cheaper w/ good residual) or buy an '00 or '01 corvette for around $30K. I really don't know what to do because I really want the coupe but, I won't be rushed or taken advantage of just to have it. I could wait a few months when they are sitting on the dealerships floor like the sedans and even the 350Z's. I guess it's good that the car is not here yet because I may make a decision that I would later be unhappy with. The sales manager said that the car could be here any day. I guess it could be good for me since we are getting close to the end of the month, and they should be trying to close this deal up. They have to get the rate, where I don't mind and get the car here. What would you do? Thanks for any advise you guys or gals have.

Re: Lease rate problems with dealer!

well after talking with the finance guy, he is stuck on that .003 money factor. after seeing other peoples rates and talking with other dealerships seeing the money factor should be .0022, i feel like i'm being ripped off. so i guess i won't be getting a car from this dealership unless he comes down on his money factor.

Re: Lease rate problems with dealer!

i've been calling around all morning trying to find a better rate and have. i am now going through leasecompare.com and see what they can come up with. their rates are much better then infiniti's. i've heard rates from .0022 to .00345, dealers say because the care is such a hot item, dealers are trying to make extra profit on it. if this doesn't work out i'll probably end up with a 350Z. oh well who knows. i guess i can't come too bad in the end.

if you have all that extra money, why dont you just buy the car and then sell it after 3 years, you'll break even.....just do the math, after 3 years you should be able to sell for 19K from the originall 35K that you bought it at

Re: Lease rate problems with dealer!

Wow!
Typically on a lease you DO NOTwant to put down a large sum of down payment cash. I am not a dealer but the dealership I dealt with was very fair. I would contact dmayer@grubbs.com and even though you do not buy a car from them he will give you the honest truth about the lease you are being offered compared to what the IFS lease rates are they he has available. Usually when I do a lease I put down nothing but the first months payment but he can definetly help you with making an honest decision. Danny is a personal friend of mine as well as the dealer where I leased my coupe. Send him an e-mail and tell him that Todd Carlson referred you and he will respond.

Re: Lease rate problems with dealer!

that's a option i may have to look into. but, i may just end up getting a blue 350Z. i don't want to but it looked so sweet when i looked at it tonight. this dealer is making this very hard for me. he is not trying to budge off of that .003 money factor. i can't understand why they want to charge you msrp then rap you on the finance. unbelievable!!!

Re: Lease rate problems with dealer!

I would either save the money your going to put down, or use it for financing the car, not a lease. I'm also sure if you shopped around you could get a lower rate then .003.

Re: Lease rate problems with dealer!

that's is what i'm hoping. i'm off on fri. which is the 31st. if they want to sell me the car then either they will go down or i'll have to walk to another dealership. but after looking at a blue up the street from my house, that thing is starting to look real nice with all of this head ache i'm getting from the dealer. when you add up all of the payments including down payment they have me paying $25,890. what are some of you guys coming up with?

Re: Lease rate problems with dealer!

well i just got off the phone with the sale manager, we can up with a price of $560 a month/ 39 months/ 15K miles/ with $4000 out of pocket to cover cap cost and tax and tags. I think i'm ok with that so i'll be picking up the car on fri.

Re: Lease rate problems with dealer!

You can also do a pre-pay on the lease if you have the money. Save you some more $$$$

Re: Lease rate problems with dealer!

I think its still too high.

I'm paying $91 less per month, only difference is 12k miles not 15k, but thats a difference of $10/month.

Your MSRP is a few hundred more than mine, but over 39 months it shoudl only increase the price by $15.

For the lease you've specified and w/ your MSRP, your payment should be $495/month.

Re: Lease rate problems with dealer!

it is alittle high after looking at it closely. i think i'm going to go and get the Z. this dealer is just not trying to work with me enough. but my msrp is $35,465 and with tax and tags it's around $37,500. maryland tax is 5%.
