Hey Guys I work at a Florida Credit Union, and I do loans we offer out members extended warranties on their cars. Just for ****s and giggles i checked how much it would cost you with us for the best warranty policy for the most amount of time and miles
48 m or 100,000 miles (which ever comes first) - 1,840.16 with taxes included already at 6% tax. Dont be fooled by "dealer" warranties these are identical just that since its offered by credit unions for our members its for your benefit not ours. Its a bumper to bumper warranty no deductible that even includes towing and even hotel stay if you get stuck somewhere away from home. Just so you Florida G owners now, you can hit me up and I can help you guys. I took one out on my G from here instead of the dealer

Oh yea and you take the car to whatever Infiniti Dealer you want! The less miles you have the cheaper you pay for the warranty./

I was told that not all dealers deal with third party companies because they often want discounts and won't pay retail. What you'll often have to do is pay for it and then get re-embursed by the third party insurer. Also, if the third party insurer happens to go out of business, you're SOL.

Is that 48 months or 100K miles beyond the current age or mileage of your car or is this covered until the car is either 48 months old or has 100K miles?

What do you mean by different companies? Different credit unions?

That sounds like an auful lot of money to spend for just a warranty. Powertrain failure is where the real expense comes in, and that's covered by the manufacturers warranty for 6 years or 70K miles on our cars.

I'd rather take my chances with the original powertrain warranty and a well maintained car than fork over an extra $2500 on the off chance that something might break after that. At that point it's starting to become an old car anyways and you could probably swap in a used motor, tranny or rear axel for $2500 or a less. At least if something breaks and you didn't have the extended warranty, you can spend the money to fix it if you want... whereas with the warranty, the only thing you're really guaranteeing is that you're spending a whole bunch of extra money whether the car breaks or not.

Also... if you crash your car before the warranty is up, I don't think you get reimbursed for the remainder of the extended warranty by the insurance company.

My warranty extension.......

I visited my local stealership Wednesday and purchased my G since the
lease was up on Thursday. I also got an extended Infiniti warranty for
$800 that's good for an extra five years........since I only have 15K miles
on my G the price was reasonable. And if I decide to sell, the warranty is
a plus for the sale!

Does anyone know if there is any flexibility on this number from the dealer? Or is it right from Infiniti corp?

check with other dealers

I sold cars for a short period of time. It is negotiable. The cost of the warranty to the dealer can be as little as half of that.

I just got a 4 year 48,000 mile Infiniti warranty for $1900. I currently have 49,000 miles on my 04 coupe. From what I am reading I think that I got a good deal.

Really just depends on what it covers. I have had a third party in the past, and it was garbage.

I had my BMW in the shop 5 or 6 times and it covered one (cam exhaust sensor)

Did not cover:
thermostat
window regulator
power steering hoses
lower control arm bushing

It is through Infiniti, so it covers the same things that the original warranty would cover.
