Matching Paint
Matching Paint
Hey Everyone,
I know I don't post much but I have a question. My G got rear ended on Sunday going about 10 MPH. The rear bumper by the left exhaust tip is cracked in two places and all scratched. I'm assuming that they are going to have to replace the bumper. My only question is will the paint match right? My car is Ivory Pearl. When I get the car back what should I look for in terms of the paint? Any feedback would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks.

Actually Its Not Hard To Match At All, All You Need To Do Is Make Sure That The Shop You Go To, Uses Spies Hecker Paint Its They Have The Closest Matching System Compared To Everyone Else, And Its The Best Quality Becasue Its German Paint, Ppg Is Bad Either, But I Like Spies Hecker. Your Paint On Your Bumper Will Lways Look A Little Different, Because When You Apint On Plastic V.s. Metal You Will Geta Different Look.

Anyways, I heard the some bodyshop has to paint door panels and fenders to match and blend the IP paint on stock body. That's one way guarantee you that you will have paint match.
T
Yes, blending is the correct method, and if the other guys insurance is paying, then take it to the best shop in town, and they will blend into the quarter panels and trunklid.
Most insurance companies won't blend from a bumper to surrounding parts. The bumper is plastic and the rest of the body panels are metal. They are composed of different materials so they will not take the color the same. Make sure you take it to a reputable shop who can match the paint so that there is as little disparity in the color as possible. The shop should be able to tint the paint to make it match the rest of the car if needed.
