Re: Aftermarket Sports Grille - NEED EVERYBODYS HELP

Honestly I like the factory grill. What I would really like to see is mesh inserts for the bottom of the bumper cover preferably
black chrome like the grill on my coupe. I would definatly be interested in that. Later

A grill i'd be very very interested in is one similar to the Aftermarket one youve made for the altima, but replacing the grill with the same exact grill used on the lower inductions.( Black plastic diamonds)

Can anybody point me in the right direction as to where I could find a good picture of the car with the black diamond mesh?

tnx dally.....outsides is best because it will line up vertically with the headlights.....imagine you had headlights+stock foglights+these in the pic.....heh you'd blind everyone on the road but it would sure as heck look sweet!

Re: Aftermarket Sports Grille - NEED EVERYBODYS HELP

DaveActiveTuning-

I do not know about if the two versions of grills can be swaped. I do know that they are different in regards to the shape though. Sorry not much help. I will look at my co-workers sedan and then look at my coupe and see what the differences are.

If you can duplicate the meshing from the bottom area on the coupe to the grill without the emblem, that might be the best match, in my opinion. I do not know if anodized aluminum (is that the black versions?) will change color over time due to the wind and weather, so maybe a variant of plastic or carbon fiber might be good.

For the sedan, I know that Jumpman35 had wanted the same criss-cross type look from the bottom of the coupe as well. Even if a few people jump on the band-wagon, could you and would you consider making them on an order to order basis?

Thanks,
XLR8SN

Dave-
I personally would love to see a billet grill for this car with billet valences for the bottom slots as well. I have this currently on my maxima and it makes an outstanding difference.

Re: Aftermarket Sports Grille - NEED EVERYBODYS HELP

I really like the grill shown on the Altima. It reminds me a lot of the one made by Gialla and Impul. Sporty, but not gaudy. I think it would be a nice touch. One thing to consider is that most of the engine's heat tends to vent from the grill (when I park, the grill is warm/hot but the hood is fairly cool). Don't know if that will affect the materials used. Please let me know if you decide to make the grill for the G35 Sedan.

Re: Aftermarket Sports Grille - NEED EVERYBODYS HELP

Had some thoughts on what I would like in a modified grille so I did some playing with Photoshop. Here's the results:

Current Stock Grille

Lower Grille Bar

Centered Grille Bar

Note the slight difference in a centered bar versus a lower bar. I think the lower bar (inline with the outer edge of the headlights and bumper seam) give the car a slightly lower look visually and is a bit more asymmetrical in design. To my eye the look is more aggressive (sporty) yet elegant in keeping with the cars duel personality.

The bar would follow the curvature of the outer hood and bumper edge as the current stock grille does (as can be seen better in the following picture.) A backing, inset into the grille shell, could be a diamond crosshatch to pickup on the existing design employed in the two lower air intakes or a large open weave screening. It should also be shaped to the outward curve of the opening.

Additional views:

Stock

Lower Bar

Centered Bar

From a marketing side, my thought would be to produce the basic outer shell, have the center bar optional in different finishes, and offer multiple inset screen options.

When I get a chance, I'll try to produce some renderings that depict the screening, focused more on the grille area and not the So. Florida sky.

Rambo,
Can you pshop the grills horizontal lines into the airdam spots without foglights? Maybe a smaller pattern but matching?
