Aftermarket Sports Grille - NEED EVERYBODYS HELP

Hey Guys, this is my first post here, so I just wanted to introduce myself before anything. My name is David Pitlyuk and I'm a partner at ActiveTuning (www.activetuning.com). Our company manufactures aftermarket performance and styling parts for cars. We just recently started up the company making some styling products for the new Nissan Altima.

We are very interested and making an aftermarket sports grille for your cars, but wanted to get some feedback from you guys. Is there something in particular you guys would like to see in terms of the design? Just let me know your thoughts about it. Also, I just wanted to know how many of you guys would actually be interested in an aftermarket grille if it looked good and the price was right and the installation was simple (about 5 min bolt-on)? When responding to this thread, just let me know if you have the coupe or sedan.

I've attached a picture of my car with the sports grille we did for the new Altima.

coupe...

nice work on the altima's grille. I am not too sure on how it would look on our cars though. Maybe someone could do a Digital manipulation to give us an idea.

Re: Aftermarket Sports Grille

Yeah, I was doing a little searching to see what is out there now and saw that. I suppose it would be fairly similar to that, but wanted to find out what you guys, the actual drivers/people who would buy the grille, are looking for.

Personally I feel the grille will make a huge difference in the look of the car. The factory grille gives the car a very luxurious look, but for those who want sporty (I'm thinking most G35C owners), changing out the grille for a sportier looking one changes the entire look of the car.

When I put our grille on my Altima it completely changed the look for me. Can't stand the look of the OEM one lol.

So anyways, we're really here to get some feedback from everybody and see what you guys want.

If you have any ideas for other products, we are all ears as well. I saw the side-mirrors, not bad! We're also coming out with LED Side-Mirror Covers for the altima within the month:

Re: Aftermarket Sports Grille - NEED EVERYBODYS HELP

Glad to meet you Dave,

Don't know if it's possible, but how about making the grill on the G35 Sedan look like the Coupe's. There's a subtile difference in the shape. But I think the Coupe's looks neater.

Thanks,
VettRN

Dave-

I know that I and another coworker of mine would be interested in the aftermarket grills for the sedan and coupe depending on what you can do. What we were originally looking for was the black mesh type plastic that is on the bottom slots of the coupe. However, if you work only in aluminum, that still might be a thought depending what they will look like. Though, neither of us want the emblems in the grill.

Can do? Thoughts?

Thanks,
XLR8SN

Re: Aftermarket Sports Grille - NEED EVERYBODYS HELP

Vette, I think we're trying to do more a sportier look rather than the look that the OEM grilles give...

XLR - We don't only work in aluminum. In fact for the Altima Sports Grille, when you order you have the option of the mesh being either round hole, oval hole, or diamond shaped, and also you choose the color: natural aluminum semi-gloss black, or body color. Our Altima grille comes without the emblem, would probably be the same for the G35 grille, although we may make it an option if you do want it...Does anybody know if the emblem can come off the factory grille?

Also, after seeing that mesh that they used on the bottom slots, I was thinking the same thing, and we can definitely take that into consideration.

Just want to put this out right now also. It's not 100% yet that we are definitely doing a grille for your cars, but we're just trying to find how much interest there would be...

Also, another question for anybody if they can answer....The coupe and sedan grilles both look different in appearence, but do they fit the same way? For example, could you put the coupe grille into the sedan with no problems?

Re: Aftermarket Sports Grille - NEED EVERYBODYS HE

How about a grill without the bumps in it? The bumps are really ugly when looking at it from any angle besides straight on.

I would also like to see what it would look like with twice as many horizontal lines.

Dave, I would also post this information on the G35 forum over at www.freshalloy.com You might get other opinions there also.

I'd be very interested in replacing the mesh in the lower slots. If you could throw some fogs down there too it'd be even better.

coupe....i agree with pimpcoupe above, he is a wise man.

There currently is black plastic in those lower slots in diamond shapes
It would be nice if you can spray paint them with Rustoleoum Metallic silver/oil based paint... or put some gutter mesh grill that would cost you $5 hehe.... i would do it but i dont have my coupe yet....will be here in april.
I will try to photoshop the pics now...

Not bad Rambo...
I'll give it a shot tonight too

How ya doin Dave, I'll post some pics of what I would like if I was to do it on my ride too...
What you might want to consider, is the black chrome type material .. like the anodized stuff... but it has to be strong .. not flexible at all ... there are some dark emblems that are available in the states that this may give a idea on color match ... it would look sweet on all colors of exterior paint ..especially DG/Silverstone
OR
the benz type grill on the Kompressor CLK or the Dodge truch type grille may work...
similar to this
http://www.activetuning.com/products...allery/12b.jpg

Personally, it would have to match the lower air induction portions .. and yes Rambo with some nice HID fogs ...
The question is though where do the fogs go ... ??? we'll see
later G's
