Quick Question About Mods

I realize probably a lot of these posts are made and I dont intend on annoying anyone. I just had a quick repetitive question.

I got my G about 2 months ago and I've done endless research and reading up on what I could do to my car. So I thought I would ask you guys what you think I should do as a first mod? and after that what comes next

Things I want my G to do:

1. Be louder
2. Look nice (not so much a body kit, I wanna keep the luxury look but rims would be nice and tints!)
3. Be faster if possible

And just anything that will enhance my G experience. Also companies of things you recommend would be great to (Ex. if you say exhaust, which one? from who?)

Sorry again if this is a continuously repeated question but suggestions rather then flaming would be appreciated :P Thanks you guys!

Right now I have about 1500$

I think a nice set of wheels is one of the first things to do since it is a visual thing that you see right away and it can change the look so much just with a wheel change.
If your roads you drive on are not too bad 20's are sweet. Just do research as to what offset will best suit your size and type of wheels.
The make and style of rims is a personal thing, get what you like and what you will be happy with.

and @GEE

Looks is a thing for me but for rims i have the 19" OEM so it doesnt like that bad currently. I shouldve mentioned probably. Performance upgrades I am more willing to do ASAP while visual upgrades I dont mind waiting.

wheels are nice. But most of the 20" wheels will slow you down (they are heavier... you gotta pay for the bling, and not just in cash).

For grunt+sound, go with spacer+mrev2. You can also do some minor visual mods, like cf bits (unless that is not what you're looking for), spoilers, front lip, big picture of a mona lisa on your trunk, etc.

good luck and welcome to our messed up little family!

Thats a big difference if you already have the 19s, they are a sweet looking wheel.
It might be nice to go with a nice exhaust setup or other engine mod then, which I will leave up to the Coupe boys in the know to recommend.

stay with 19's, 3m tint, a system, and the little power mods like z-tube pop charger / stillen td

$1500 won't go far. It's probably not enough to finish any performance category completely. Your certainly not going to be much faster. I assume wheels are a seperate budget.
The first thing I would do is decide how far you want to take this project. Plan, plan, plan.
Are you going to stop at $1500? Do you want to go FI? If you're going to do FI, save yourself some time and money and don't do any power mods until it's time to do it all at once.
With that all said, I would start with tint and clear bra the bumper (prices & good install vary). Find some used springs for under $100, install is under $100 ($200 total for drop). Add a sub, 4080 box and small amp (find used for your budget).

+1

N/a mods aren't exactly cheap, and they really don't add a lot of power. All depends what you're looking for out of your car.

I will add this, one thing I learned from spending $$ on my 03 Maxima is that you're not going see a lot of gain w/ bolt ons w/ the VQ engines. I spent all this money on intake, exhaust, etc and saw some gain up top, but sacrificed low end just to get it. I decided that instead of spending all that money again w/ the G, I would just go FI from the beginning.

Mod question..............

Let's see $1500 now so when you save another $2000 then start looking at
wheels and tires or find a good used set on this site under marketplace.

hah, i thought i would spend $1500 also. once u start, its hard to stop!
you said you want sound-get a plenum spacer ($300-$350), and if you are 6MT, get MREV2 ($400) as well. You can get a decent exhaust for around $600-$700. If you can get an intake, it will put you just about $100 over your budget.

and all the above takes care of point # 1 =)

you can definately expect to spend around the same (could be more depending on your taste) for your rims and tires.

as far as going fast, the above mentioned mods would give you very minimal (almost negligible gains). If you want to go fast, go F/I (but i am guessing that is a long way to go lookin at your budget)

g/l regardless and happy moddin'

:-)
