Need new tires and some input

Well unfortunately it's that time, new tires I ran a quick search, but didn't pull up anything that was much help. I have been looking at BF Goodrich KDWs from tirerack. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with these and what are the positives and negatives. I appreciate it

What size tires are you looking for and how are your driving habits?

Most guys here run Falken FK451 or FK452
Toyo T1R
Nitto

KDW2s are a better overall tire in dry and wet conditions

I have the FK452 on the rear and compared to the OEM RE050a, IMHO they have slighter softer sidewalls, hence the better ride quality but you're trading off handling. From 1-10, I'd give the RE050a a 9 (horrible wear as you know) and the FK452 a 7.5 in the performance category. If I'd had to do it all over again, I'd definitely go with the KDWs. People complain about the noise but a friend with a 04 M3 has had them for a year and it's not that bad. Good luck.

I went with Toyo over BFG and the others for cost (not a big difference, but some) and mostly weight. BFG's get noisy and Bridgestone are heavy. If price was no object might go with Pirelli P Zero Nero.

Thanks for the help guys. I got the KDW2s for 610 shipped. I called tirerack and they matched a price I got from a tire place a few towns over. Mounting and balancing is an extra $40 from a local shop. Not as bad as I thought, now I can't wait to get my bald pilots off

I have 255/30/20 and 285/30/20 KDW's and they are quieter than my old Pilot Sports on my 18 inch stock wheels. They aren't too expensive and have great grip. Maybe the people that have noise problems with them don't have their cars aligned properly. I have front and rear camber kits to take care of that.

I have these BF-KDW2 on my car (245 R 45 18 rear, 225 R45 18-front). After 2K on them, they are doing just fine. Good wet traction, hopefully they can make it over 15K mark as my previous Yokoham ES100.

Did you have the problem in front tires, tend to wear out the inner side faster? My alightment was good just these mechanics told me that my car has a cam in? So you have a kid for it? where and how much did you paid for it? thanks

Any time you lower the car, you introduce more negative camber into the alignment. The rear is adjustable a little, but there is no adjustability in front with the stock a-arms. There are several manufacurers of adjustable a-arms - SPC, Cusco, SPL, Kinetix, Stillen, 350Evo - to correct the abnormal wear pattern on the inside of the tire. You may also need rear camber arms - SPC is about the most popular choice.

Read some threads in the suspension section for more info. I got my camber kits at www.iapdirect.com.

I wasn't lower my car anything, it just came like that when I got my car brand new. It's 04 coupe with tires/wheels package. Some guys told me that my car does look lower than their car but mine is fully stock. Thanks for your info, I would take a look at your link!!
