They may work, but if this is truely a problem, wouldn't the manufacture put one on the car as a standard item? Take care of your car as the manufacture recommends and you won't need these type of items.

Been there done that on many cars and I still stick by my comment. Go ahead and waste your money if thats your choice.

i usually only see it on turbo cars where the suction from the turbine sucks oil in from the crankcase ventilation tube, thats when it works well

I had one on my GST. If you do get one, dont go spending $100. All you need is a fuel filter. Cut the line and put the fuel filter in, does the same thing for $4. IMO its not needed either.

Been there, done that, and your're right.
I'm just waiting for some warmer weather before I install my oil catch can.

Here's a thread on making one instead of spending $100+ for an aftermarket.

lol...love some of the comments here about the known high vacuum VQ not needing one
For those ppl, take your plenum off and report back here as to what you see in there. The catch can will prevent a lot of that from getting in there.
It's not a gimmick.

When I installed my spacer, I noticed a little bit of dried oil stains, but certainly not a lot. Easily cleaned up. I wonder if some cars experience more of the oil in the plenum that others?

It's a long thread I linked, lots of questions asked and answered in there.
No it doesn't hurt engine and with the clear bowl as the catch can, you can see how much it's collecting and empty as needed.

Yes, some VQ's collect more oil than others. For sure the rev-up VQ's. They known for higher vacuum issues than non rev-up and noticed reductions in oil consumption with this catch can mod in relation to what their dip sticks told them.
