I bought the B&M because it came available for a good price and I had driven one on my friends Z. Once I wore it in...it was great. I've driven another G with the RE shifter and I didn't see anything too different about it - a lot of people will say otherwise though heh.

Rogue SS here.
In a nut shell...it is somewhat a shorter throw, only 30-35%. Keeps in-cabin shifter height. Reduced vibration and shifts are somewhat more precise in the gates.
My 06 oem shifter was not bad, but the Rogue made it slightly better, smoother too. Don't know about earlier year G's with their oem shifters, but read big difference with earlier years.

went with the R/E shifter because I drove a Z with the B/M and also drove that same car with the R/E. Big time difference.

RE has 20% reduction in throw, not much shorter shaft, less than 1" shorter shaft, so not much different than stock in #'s, just like any shifter it stiffens up the feel though.

B&M has way better reputation with a history of being a standard feature in exotic cars. I'm not sure on their % throw, but 20% is the lowest I've seen such as the RE so I'm sure it would be more of a reduction than that.

I know driver members sway to RE tho it doesnt make much sense IMO. Just look at the statistic numbers on the throw reduction / size and the 50/50 'i like RE' and 'i dont like RE' threads out there.

I was going to go with a stillen shifter cuz i could only find a handful of threads with people that didn't like it, and the throw is 33% reduced while maintaining 3/4" reduced stock shift height.

Sorry I don't have B&M's numbers memorized! But I checked this out for a while and I'm decided on stillen for sure.

^^^ oops...my bad. You're right on the 20%, thought it was 30%.
It was the same in-cabin length as my 06 oem, think the 06 was shortened from earlier oem's. Their web site says it's the same height.
Anyway, here's their web page on the shifter, if anyone interested.

I know B&M is a good company and been around for a long time. The reason I didn't go with B&M was read many ppl saying it vibrating a lot after awhile.
Considered Stillen, but not any reviews here I could find. Heard more positive and very little negative here on the Rogue. Disagree with the Rouge reviews being 50/50 good/bad.

I got the RE because I have heard that the B&M can develop a rattle.

I've been very happy with my RE.

Yeah...that's what I meant by saying vibrating a lot after awhile.
I'm happy with my Rogue too.

ya i'm not saying RE isnt good, just rather spend my money on something that has the most reduction if its almost the same price, etc.

It's all good. Agree the RE doesn't have much throw reduction. Some ppl want a lot of reduction, some don't. It's a matter of preference.

Here's one that's all race, but again only 20% short throw, if increased noise/vibration isn't an issue. But if it is, then they sell/recommend the RE.

That Stillen is the adjustable one, right?

Owned both and I can say don't buy B&M. The way it goes into reverse doesn't work. You can go from 4th to reverse if you're not careful and that wouldn't be good! I had it for a week and sold it and bought an RE.
I will say the B&M has a noticeably shorter throw but trust me you won't like it. I had to man handle it to get it into gears and stuff. The RE IMO isn't worth the money either though haha I sold mine about got something better for 200 bucks and now I'm stock, which is short enough.
Whoever says there's no difference hasn't owned both...there is a huge one!

I noticed a nice difference in throw with my RE. It might only be 20% but it's pretty short now.
