Winter Tires / Wheels

When you guys say "I bought winter tires" do you mean that you just bought a set of tires for winter? Or that you have a new wheel/tire set that you put on for winter?

How much is it to get the tires swapped on and off

Thanks

you can do either but its better just to get a second set of wheels, it costs ~$100 each time to get it swapped, so 1 or 2 swaps pays for a cheap set of 17s already

most people get some stock 17s/18s + winter tires for their winter setups.

others hate stock setups and get some cheap aftermarket 17s/18s and do the same.

I have a cheapy set of 17's with winter tires. Your better off getting another set of wheels than doing the swapping because of the wear and tear it puts on both the tires and wheels. I think my 17s run for $100 or less a wheel, they are ASA brand and a couple others on here have them. Similar style to stock 18's.

I originally planned on just switching out the tires each year, but I figured it would probably cost me more in the long run...

I opted for the 17" rims.....since it gives you more sidewall, it improves the traction capabilities of the tires.

I also went with the same size all the way around....I sacrificed stagger for being able to rotate the tires each season...

wow thx for the prompt replies and pics!! I'll definately have to order a set then. if anyone has any specific brands / sizes they like or think i should get please let me know

links are always appreciated ;D

i checked out tire rack but they only have 1 size tire available for the 17" package. I saw some decent $109 wheels... I guess I shouldnt be picky for winter eh? Is there another site that sets it up as nice as tirerack with more options?

do i need winter performance tires or just normal winter ones
