Navigation or NO

When i initially bought my g35c i didn't get the navigation system for the extra 2k cuz at the time i figured i wouldn't really need it, of course this was back when no one really used them and navigation systems were rare.

Now however, i regret the move since it is a useful tool at times, but i went to ask the dealer how much it is to install one and they said it was 4k due to wiring bull**** and whatnot. I got a friend that works at BestBuy and he can hook me up with a huge discount on the navigaiton system and installation, in-dash system of course.

Now the question is...do you guys think i should spend the money and get the in-dash system installed (which comes w/dvd player)....or should i just go ahead and buy one of those 600 dollar external navigation systems by garmen/tomtom/magellan/etc.??

Man don't get one of those Tom Tom or Garvin kits. If you do that you mine as well get a gold boomerang antenna and some gold mud guards and twist them out along with your 12 inch Daytons. Better yet....save some money and pick up some Pep Boys spinners~! LOL

the new lcd garmin units are small and can be hard-wired (just like your radar detector). that's really the only cost-effective solution.

if you want the cool factor, spending $2k on the in-dash nav is a waste. go big - go streetdeck and car pc - visit www.streetdeck.com.

DOUBLE DIN NAVI for the win.

Although my gf has the Garmin navi, it's pretty awesome! Taking it car to car on trips was a great convenience. Although the wires kind of make them, "Less professional" looking

Nothing looks nicer than factory IMO, but you can get the same GPS technology, (not the same integrated features of course) or even better, and depending on what you choose, even portability, all for a good half even less, than what they want for the factory job.
