Re: Clear Corners jacked

sorry to hear about that, really sucks.

I don't think anyone with a G would steal them for their own car dude. They probably sell them on ebay.

I have my clearcorners epoxied and zip tied in place, specifically to prevent this kind of thing. I also hooked up a shock/motion sensor to the alarm.

Re: Clear Corners jacked

sorry to hear that you got your clear corners jacked.. you're not the first one tho..

and also, it very well could be a G driver.. or it could be jus someone who knew that it's very easy to pop out our corners and steal them..

either way, i wud suggest that you do at least the zip ties as a minimal form of security.. that's what i did..

Re: Clear Corners jacked

I'm dumb as a doornail when it comes to certain lingo so forgive me for sounding "dumb" when I ask this question. What is a zip tie and how do i put that onto the clear corners?

Sorry to hear about the theft dude. Hopefully, it wasn't another G owner.

Re: Clear Corners jacked

Although my sidemarker isn't worth the $60 for clear corners, I've spent a good amount of time and energy into my $20 LED circuit mod. Even though its only 20 bucks, I would go ape $hit if mine went missing. I zip tied them good. They are also self destructing due to the wiring, so if someone were to "steal" them, they would be of no value to them anymore.

I wouldn't recommend zip ties or epoxy unless you have a motion sensor alarm. Otherwise, the bastard could end up damaging your bumper.

Puli - here's the address of the thread about putting zip-ties on the clear corners.

afr0puff - do you have any details/pics of your LED mod? I'm interested in seeing what it looks like.

Remember in Robocop the car alarm that electrifies people...In France they have a similar system for car security...

Re: Clear Corners jacked

It really sucks getting anything stolen, however, one piece of advice:

If a theif wants it, they'll get. So, the more security you add, the more risk of additional damage in a theft attempt.

For example, 2002 Maxima's get thier headlight stole quite frequently, and the thieves do nearly$4500 in damage stealing the HIDs.

My $.02 is that I'd rather replace the corner for $70 buck than fix and repaint the whole fender cause some *** pryed the corner light out with a screw driver or something else.

LOL!!! Mad ghetto... I had to take a wicked **** at the time and never bothered to get better footage / pics. I'm working on a more streamlined version but I have the attention span of a monkey. I've got about four separate projects working at the same time and all of them are no where near completion. I really should focus on completing one at a time. Plus it doesn't help that I just recently discovered SOCOM II Online.

Sux.. I gess the best thing to do is to try to park your G in a secure location. I wouldn't recommend zip ties cuz they could damage your bumper, OR get mad and mess up your car. I mean they are already ripping stuff off your car, whats to stop them from say keying it.

Re: Clear Corners jacked

You would rather LET someone steal stuff from you rather than fear angering them because you are making it INCONVIENENT to steal things from you??? F%CK that!!!

People are stealing the clear corners because it's low risk (quick)...tearing apart a bumper in not one spot but two is not low risk..

Re: Clear Corners jacked

yeah, why not just leave the keys in it and the windows down too.... you wouldn't want a thief to have to break your window or mess up the steering column and computer trying to get it started.
