I made it 2 winters in Connecticut without snow tires. It wasnt pretty. This year i picked up a set of blizzaks and unfortunately there wasnt that much snow this year. But... what a hugeeee difference in driving with snow. With summers i couldnt even make it up a slight hill or even on some flat parking spaces. The snow tires make it a driveable car, just about as good as a front wheel drive car. Was very pleased.
I've got Pirelli Sottozero's up here in Toronto, Canada and I can't complain!
As said before, as long as you respect the snow and not drive like it's AWD, you're good to go..
Winter tires are a MUST though! Nice vid!

lol that is the weakest video ever.. yes as you could see he couldnt even get the G to accelerate forward in the snow, let alone do donuts. You want to see fun snow videos go search for Sti and WRXs.
so Yes, Really, The G sucks *** in the snow. not what its made for

hahahah. I figured you're drifting but the camera angle was bad that we can't see it. I guess if I'm the camera Man i'll be a mile away just to safe
The G does just fine in the snow and ice as long as you know the limitations of the car and have proper equipment (snow tires). If anyone is from Minnesota and wants to try their G out in adverse conditions, check out this site and sign up for the ice event on the 4th.

I took my g35 coupe up to their Winter Driving School a couple weeks back and had a blast. Most of the other drivers had Audi's with Quatro - here are the times for the two days:

They didn't note my car on there, but I'm Jeremiah Davis.
We do lose a lot in acceleration due to rear wheel drive, that's what killed my times compared to the Audis. Getting going from a dead stop takes a lot longer when you basically have 1 wheel drive with that much power. But handling of the car is just fine. And the VDC does a tremendous job in correcting for screw ups and keeping you in a straight line. It was fun to run the course with it off though, and get a feel for what the car could handle and what I could correct for myself.
If anyone else is from the area, I really encourage you to try it out next year. Knowing what you can expect from the car in those conditions in a safe environment (ok, for however safe driving on a lake is) was incredibly helpful - and a hell of a lot of fun.
I'm running Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2's, v rated.
