"...V-8?"

I was looking for a spot yesterday on a 2-way street when I realized I accidentally drove past a space. I gunned in it reverse (with that sweet music coming from the exhaust) to beat the traffic approaching me in the rear and quickly parallel parked. As I walk away from my car, some dude in a new Camry who was parked in front of me lowers his window and yells for my attention. "Hey, is that a V-8?!" When I told him it wasn't, he looked surprised and mentioned that it "sure sounds quick". Complimented me on the car and drove away. I've had my coupe for almost a year now and this stuff never gets tiresome. Just thought I'd share. Almost as good as when a kid pulled up next to me recently and said that the car "purrs like a kitten".

Re: "...V-8?"

That has happened to me with the v8 question, mostly when the car came out. I love the complements, still happen pretty often.

lol don't you just love that deep growl when you turn the key and start her up? That always turns peoples heads and music to my ears.

Re: "...V-8?"

Out of all the comments i have gotten... the ones from people in the ghetto in miami are the best!

"**** bro, that thing fast huh?"
"Damn, how fast can you go?"
"That thing look fast as ****"
etc.

and my all time favorite:
"Man... could i borrow your ride on saturday, even i could get some pu$$y pimpin that!"
-a bum on the east side of I-95 and 119th street that i see occasionally...

The list is ever-growing...

Peace

Hahaha that is probably one of the funniest things anyone's ever listed on here regarding peoples' responses to their coupe.

Re: "...V-8?"

I noticed that the exhaust note when I startup the engine is better when the engine is warmed up. Like if I drove for a while, parked for a few minutes, and then start it again, there is this nice growl as the engine drops the RPMs. (ho baby)

Re: "...V-8?"

Yeah, that sound when you start up the engine is awesome. It puts a new meaning to "firing up the engine". At least it does for me. Brings a smile to my face every time I fire it up.

Re: "...V-8?"

Ditto on the V8 comments. I've also had two people (who know cars) tell me that it sounds like a Ferrari when I start it up, but I'm afraid I don't have enough experience listening to Ferraris to confirm that.

Re: "...V-8?"

The car definately has a great exhaust note; but it does not sound like a V8 at all. Most people don't know anything about cars nor have they had a V8; however, when they hear the G, they know it sounds good! The G actually has its own unique sound and it is just loud enough to impress but not objectionable. I can hear one go by and know it is a G without looking!

Nissan/Infiniti did a good job on this aspect on the G. Most other 6 cylinders I've heard simply sound anemic; and none, incluiding the G, sound like a V8.

Re: "...V-8?"

I guess you can say it kind of sounds like a testerosa or 360 modena. there's a few out here, but I only payed attention to the testerosa exhaust note. I was walking into a store when it drove by and it sounded nice.

Re: "...V-8?"

My wife tells me that out Great Dane "doobie" can hear the G35 Coupe from the freeway about 3 minutes before I get to my street. He starts getting excited and jumps up and down because he knows I'm coming home.
