it seems to me the the nitrogen filled tires are great for a few months.then all 4 tires seem to loose 2-2.5 lbs.all at once..i check the psi every 2 weeks..but everytime i put air in them it takes a cople of days of city driving or 50 miles on h-way to get the light to go out...does the larger nitrogen particles of air react different in the cold??the hot weather does not seem to effect the nitrogen pressure much

The only reason cold weather makes it turn on is because your tires are probably at a lower than they should be and the cold is magnifying that by dropping the pressure even more do to compression of the air molecules in the cold. The cold weather causes the tire pressure to drop(when the tires are cold) and then the TPS senses that the pressure is below 28 PSI and sends off the warning light. The light can also come on if your tires are all above 28 PSI but one tire(or several) is set at a PSI that is significantly different from the other tires. I don't know the exact number of PSI difference that you have to have in order for this to happen, but I've had it happen to me before when one tire was at 32 PSI while the rest were at 38/39.
