just baught a used 2004 g35 coupe already having problems
i just baught this car last week from a dealership and the brake pads already got worn out..well at least thats what i think it is....everytime i brake, it makes a really loud squeeking noise..its embarassing to b seen driving a nice car but makes a loud squeeking noise..i have warranty, and when i took it back to the dealership the guy told me that the warranty only covered for engine repair bull****. he told me that since i had just baught this car, they were gona take care of it, but later on during the day, they tried to charge me $375 just 2 repair my brake pads and say some other bs like my rotors were worn down and they gotta realign it. i asked him what about the waiver for my brake pads to get changed since i had just baught the car, and he told me that the owner of the dealership had made it clear 2 me that if the car needed brake pad changing etc. it comes out of my own pocket. wtfuk should i do...
Welcome to the forum....sorry to hear your having problems already.
If its a 6MT with brembos....your at their mercy. If its an auto....fight like hell. They had a 3yr 36,000 mile brake replacement warranty because of the extreme wear the brakes would develop.
I had two sets of rotors and pads replaced under warranty.....
Depending on the mileage, I would make sure they know your aware of the brake warranty replacement poliicy.

If you have a 6MT with Brembos, put some Project Mu NS brake pads on it. Don't get raped by the dealer.
I have 23,000 miles on my original Brembos with original pads. No issues here. Your G may have been driven pretty hard. My G is used mostly for longer trips, often on the interstates, so the brakes don't get used as much.

If you just brought the car a week ago just do what my friend did. His G was giving him problems because of a blown strut and two bad rear tires. He advised the service manager and the salesman that he just brought the car and that if they could not do something about it that he'd have his lawyer come down and hand deliver a summons. Long story short the dealer got the car fixed free of charge. There is no reason for you to have problems on a week old car.

What i noticed is that people sometimes panic when they hear squeaking but when in fact their brakes are still good. Then they bring it to the shop and that's when they get bent over...
I mean this in no disrespect at all, some knowledge of basic handtools would really help you out sometimes. I see this as a maintenance and not a problem.

In the future, before you let the dealer do anything on your car, make sure talk with the manager to get things straight out. That's mean if they are working on some parts, the parts should be covered as well the labor from the dealer. If you let them freely to take care your car, by the end of day, your face would turn blue from that invoice; for some people, their faces would turn red hot and pissed!!ps. Maybe there some sand get in your brakepad? brake dust cleaner spray or high pressure water would help. I'd take out the tire to see if the break pad is wear out or not!!
i dunno how ur state is but in RI if u buy a used car from a dealership it has to pass a state inspection if its the same in ur state then obviously it didnt pass cause if the breakpads are squellin now then they were already worn out go that route and see if it gets u anywhere
My brembo's were squeeking when I got my coupe, but after inspecting the pads I determined I do not need pads. Now after year and a half I noticed one of my rear pads needs changing soon, and of course there is no sound letting me know that, figures.
