Getting a lil worried now...

All of a sudden I have been noticing this lil knocking noise ( ticking if you will). I fill up with Amaco 93 octane gas as I always have. The mods are in my siggy. I know with the plenum there is a harmonic note to be heard but it is diffrent then that. But the noise im hearing is just about the same db as the hormonics from the plenum. I know what the flywheel sounds like and it is not it either. I believe the trans is bad once again ( Cluncks into gears ) and will get it replaced as soon as I order my Nismo clutch. Could this noise come from the trans?

Someone with good mechanical experiance please give some ideas as its realy starting to worry me.

Re: Getting a lil worried now...

could you describe the knocking a little bit more? does it happen under load? does it happen all the time?

you might want to try adding a gallon of "race gas" - it may be that the gas station you usually fill up at got a bad batch of gas and youre hearing "knocking" - if you add the race gas and it still does it - then its not the gas

Re: Getting a lil worried now...

93 is usually offered in most other states except Cali..at least in the states that actually matter :P However, there are a few places where you can get 93... hell.. some places even have 100 octane gas in Cali [both North and South], you just have to know where to go (and have the ability to pay about $4-5/gallon)
