when i was fist looking in to getting a car my first choice was always the Z i just loved how aggressive it looked it was just perfect i drove it and it handled awesome! i drove a track pack so a lil bump but still very nice ride! i was so sure i was gonna get it! then i drove a G and the ride is sooooo much smoother and shifting gears feels a lil better also! now im so glad i got it cause even tho no one sits in the back seat my gf can put her back pack there and i can put random **** back there whenever i need too and all i have to do is reach back instead of going to the trunk! and i think the stock G exhaust sounds a lil better then the Z i dunno just what i noticed! i say go for the G! plus thats a super good deal.. well in canada a G like that would be going for about 46-47 still

Oy, I've been following this thread the past few hours but I'm in the reverse dilemma. I have an 05 G35C 6mt that I'm seriously considering getting rid of. One of the bigger reasons is I have the tire feather issue. Really pisses me off. Secondly, I've taken the car out to racetracks and it feels heavy around the turns and somewhat sluggish through the straightaways. Tracking my car is something I want to continue doing and the G is only decent.

I have an opportunity to pick up the new Z below invoice cost because my company is a Nissan business affiliate so I'm really contemplating this. However, and this may sound so trivial, I would greatly miss having a sunroof and automatic headlights. Ya, it's stupid but when you've had those options on all your previous cars, you get spoiled, plus the interior is fricking plush on the G. What do you expect, it's an Infiniti. I would never get the roadster because as mentioned, I want to track the car.

I'm also concerned about buying a Z only to have a revised one come out within 2 years as the rumors are saying for 2009. If I did purchase the Z, I would dump it in 2 years and that's money down the drain. But then there's the G37...sigh, I cannot make a decision to save my life right now. Both are good cars, both have pros and cons, it's just a matter of what I and you want to get out of it. Having said that, I do admit the G is a very well balanced sport and luxury car. Hmm, did I answer my own question? Meh...not really. I just need more money.

if you want the two extra seats in the back( BTW they are the biggest PITA to get in and out of) and more luxury then go for the G, if not stay with your Z

Do you have another car or will this be your only mode of Transportation? Because if you ever want to go to Costco you better not get the Z! lol. The G can go to Costco!

I might be getting a Z sometime next year. But that would be more of a track car.

hahaha so true. That other day I went to costco with my G (the first time in the G) and I thought the exact thing. It's pretty much the minimum necessary for costco

As for me, I could not be happier with my 06 6MT.

It's sporty, awesome handling, great power, and looks as good as a 60k car

.
Yea, wait for the next generation G! You won't be sorry..............

Keep the Z. The 08 has been revealed and it is hideous. Check out the threads with the pics.

if you want more performance for track, why not mod the G? i know for sure the next gen Z will be out soon with the new 3.7L engine. dont waste money on a 3.5 now.. however, if you really do want to, then at least get the 07 Z.. they have the updated version of the 3.5 and i heard it makes a good difference compare to the old 3.5L.
i would def. waite till the G37 to come out, see how that works out.. and see hwo the new engine performs before making a decision.

Just saw the pics of the G37...sooo shexxxy! But estimated weight at almost 3700lb?!?! That thing is obese, I'm anxious to see how it handles the track.

Now if only the Z would come in with the 3.7L engine and a targa top...now that I would ****** up.
