Thanks TINMAN...I was hoping the poll was pretty mixed. I am 36, and this car is as fun as my 3000GT was when I was 26!

I'm 45 and thought by now I would be looking more at the traditional sedans or SUV's in the auto market, but No Way!!!

2004 Coupe/DG/5AT on order...Is it January 21 yet?

I'm 27, seems I fall in the middle ground. I'm too old to have my parents footing the bill like the rich kids here and not old enough to need a mid life crisis cure...

now that I've managed to **** off nearly everyone, hello! :-)

The salesman even mentioned it, he had sold them to mostly 40+ men or as gifts to kids *sic*

Re: So Am I going to be the oldest G35c driver around?

I just turned 44 (on the 7th like ghostg) and my car, which was ordered in September, was supposed to be my B-Day gift to me but will arrive in January.
I originally wanted to get a Boxster for my 40th but a) my hunger for a Boxster just wasn't strong enough (too many comments like great car but..) and b) I sustained paper losses of about >100k in the stock market.
So, when I saw the G- Sedan (2002) my juices started flowing again. And when they announced the Coupe ('03) I couldn't control myself.
It takes about a year for an analytical engineer to spontaneously and impetuously jump on a decision (oh sheisse, a double split Infiniti(ve))! :-). I studied, analyzed, and compared ravenously(330, M3, M5). I also looked at and test-drove the 350Z and loved it.
But in the end, I concluded that the G35 delivered almost the same price/performance while hinting at an understated maturity and sophistication that I personally lack.

The simple choice of this car suggests a type of maturity irrelevant of age. So young or old you guys are all somewhat mature (caveat).
BTW, my order is an '04 Twilight Blue, Prem, Nav, Coupe.
It is the 5759th 2004 production unit.

Re: So Am I going to be the oldest G35c driver around?

When I was 18 I thought 30 was "old". My 87 year old mother thinks 75 is young. I'm 46 now but I am into cars as much now as when I was 18. The only thing that changed with age is my perception (and a few aching joints). I do think that I enjoy my car as much as any other member here regardless of age. I am frequently told my coupe is a mid-life crisis. What friggin crisis? I'll take this over a minivan any day.

Re: So Am I going to be the oldest G35c driver around?

I am 40. Just took delivery of my G35 coupe (auto with premium) yesterday. I think what makes it seem like G35 drivers are younger here, is that many younger drivers (18-25 mostly) are big on "tricking out" their vehicles, and come to these forums for ideas/advice/support.

When I was researching this vehicle, I read an ariticle where they said that car manufacturers specifically target this age group with cars in the 15000 to 20000 range. A study was done that showed that these drivers tend to purchase cars in this range (Civics, Lancers, Neons, Corollas) and then spend 8000 to 10000 on mods. And for those who don't want to do mods themselves, the manufacturers offer souped up versions like the Neon SRT-6, Acura RXS, Civic Si that are obviously targeted at this age group.

I am surprised to see so many young folks being able to afford this vehicle. I wish I had this kind of cash avaliable when I was 20 (even to borrow). Even if I did, my parents would have done all they could to keep me from blowing it on a car.

Hey just remember, every generation has its own version of english.....

In the 70's (as most of you in your late 30's or older would remember) they had some very interesting choices of words that I'm sure the older crowd laughed at. If your into the G, it doesnt matter if you're 16, 36 or 60. You're here to learn and discuss your passion... and passion doesn't have an age requirement attached to it. While I'm not gonna go on defending the "homey G" talk, just a lil quote to think about....

"To each his own...."

I'm only 22.... but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy, drive, and discuss the car I love just the same as someone twice, or three times my age.
