Lightbulb different idea for cabin filter

Guys,

Need some input. What do you guys think of this idea. Instead of replacing our cabin filter with OEM Nissan filter, is it a good idea say that I replace it with any allergenic filter + charcoal sheet(DIY)all in one and cut it to size to fit in the filter compartment? Imagine less watery eyes, less sneezing, and less odor. Anyone done this yet? I don't see any harm since the cabin filter just filters airflow into the car and does not affect our cars performance. Any suggestions are also welcomed.

Thanks.

The Nissan filter comes in two pieces. There's a member here on the forums who sells a one piece hepa carbon filter. PM Gord for details. It's a simple install and it does a good job in filtering out outside odors. I'll have to see how it doesn when the pollen season starts.
