Joined the club!
Hi All,
I run TwinTurbo.NET (www.twinturbo.net) and have long been a huge Z fanatic. With the release of the 350Z and the G35 and the impending arrival of my first child, I realized I needed something with backseats and I really prefer the styling of the G over the Z (ouch, it hurts to say that! LOL)
On Friday, I picked up my G35 coupe from Sewell Infiniti in Dallas. Great folks and they really wanted to work with me. Specs on the car:
2004 Twilight Blue/Willow leather coupe automatic with all options except navigation List price was $35,795 and they gave me a grand off, which I thought was pretty decent.
I originally went to Grubbs which is where I test drove the car, but I didn't really like the sales guy and they didn't seem to be very flexible or interested in my business.
A few pics:
And a shot with my current kids:
And a couple of pics of my Z:

Welcome aboard.
I have a Twilight blue / willow as well with all the options you described. I actually thought I was looking at my car in your pictures minus the dogs ... I even have the same 4th breaklight Lol.. Got my spoiler put on for free after I did my deal. I kinda like the look of all the red back there when I hit the break pedal. Makes sure the people behind you know to STOP!!!.. You gonna put a Turbo in this one?.
Congrats on your new toy. And I love your Nissan, that engine bay looks SWEET...

Thanks everybody. The Z put 477 to the ground on the last dyno with low compression. I'm currently rebuilding with a built bottom end, so it should break 500 at the wheels when I'm done. Planning to be in the Autorama show in Dallas in February.
G35 is probably hands off on the mods or my wife will kill me :-) I may see if I can at least sneak an intake on there tho!

Welcome aboard bro and congrats on 2 fine rides. Your 'Blue Beast' looks well named--- looks like you may be pushing 400+ hp? Any plans to equip the G the same way? I'll bet your 'kids' enjoy the ride -- I know mine do (see attached).
Be sure and tell us more about both your rides and post pics in our 'Rides' forum.

I also got mine from Sewell. I didn't like salesman at Grubbs either, even though they're great w/ sponsoring the local G35 club. You should make it out to our next meet in January.

That's one incredibly clean and mean Z! I had toyed with the idea of getting a low-mileage used Z32 before the G coupe became available. As much as I like the Z32 (my favorite of the Z line), it's amazing what a difference of 15 years in technology will do. Who would have thought that a normally-aspirated 3.5 litre V-6 powered coupe would ever match the performance of a stock twin-turbo Z32.

Congratulations Greg! How ironic, I used to hang out at twinturbo.net and just took delivery of my new V35 coupe too! I also remain a die hard Z fan and will never sell my Z, but driving the new G coupe, you just gotta wonder if THIS is what the Z33 perhaps should have been.

Well, they wanted to go back to a more pure sports car than the GT that the z32 was, so I think that was primarily accomplished with the Z33. However, I personally like GT style and comfort, so I'm all about the G35 :-)
After driving the 350Z on the Tochigi test track I was really really impressed. Now, driving the G35 I can definitely tell that it's all the same technology. It feels (handling and performance) the same to me.
I'm planning to get out to Hallett (road race track) in May and now it's a tough decision whether to take the Z or the G :-)

Re: Joined the club!
Greg you're absolutely right. The "Z" has its fans who wished it to be a lighter truer sports car, and others who appreciated its perfect GT attributes. Thus was born the G35 coupe and the lighter Z33 to satisfy everyone- AMAZING. I do remember reading about your trip to Tochigi... another small irony, I took a factory tour of the Tochigi plant this October to see them building G's (maybe mine I thought), saw the 4 mile banked oval but no test drive! Wrote about it on the FreshAlloy forum if anyone's interested.
