Question Which is more reliable?

Hey guys I want to get a G35 Coupe but have a few questions that im thinking about. Well I really like the 350Z because of the speed and I love the G35 for its looks and comfort lol. But I really like the speed for the 350z. I have been askin people and a lot of them tell me that the 350z trany is really bad. is that the same with the G35 I want a 6 Spd manual I hate automatics All u G35 and 350z owners plz tell me have u had problems with ur trany? and one more thing Have u had any other problems with u car at all?

its not that bad, after a day you get used to it.

Some people have had multiple problems with the synchros in their 6 spd tranny's, other havent. Just make sure you get a car that's still under warranty and the dealer will replace the synchros everytime.

the tranny is ok.. not the best but not bad either.. the 6mt's in the g and 350z are the same.. my whole tranny was replcaed under warranty uncluding the clutch and has been smooth ever since... i think this shifts much better when being pushed vs granny driving.

The G, like any other car, has it's issues. But, other than the oil consumption, nothing major that I've read about. The Z is not that much faster. It's slightly faster (0-60) due to less weight. But, on the other hand, you may enjoy the longer wb of the G since it's much more compliant on bad roads.

^^the trap speeds for 1/4 mile is 100 for the Z and 99 for the G.. not much of a difference.

my brother has 2004 350Z 6mt and I have 2004 G35 6mt...his car grinds into 3rd gear unless you shift SUPER SUPER slow and mine grinds into 6th on occasion regardless of how i shift. Nissan were jerks about reparing his tranny while infiniti offered great customer service and fixed everything. His Z is much louder inside while the G is much more quieter. G has lots of random squeeking noises compared to the Z. Infiniti gives sweet 2007 G35 rental cars while Nissan gives you nothing...haha

if you want to get a six speed, i'd say go for the z, i might be dumb but i think the transmissions are the same and if not are very similar, so i think you'd enjoy the z more

Coupe
i'm pretty damn sure that G uses Zs tranny. And I hear people who got their trannys replaced under warranty, got the 06 ones, which are REALLY good compared to 03-04.

I have a 6mt G and I love it, I sat in a 350z and it just felt crappy compared to the G... And it's quick enough, I don't think you'd even notice the extra 1mph you'd get...

But you could just mod the G a 'lil and you'd be faster, and have more luxury, and have the nicest @$$ around! Heh. :P

Oh, and, I haven't had any problems with my tranny at all and it's an 04 with 60k+ miles. ( i drive alot :P )
