2nd 5-seater coupe Pics
The G35 coupe is a great car for many reasons, but the reason that I opened my wallet for MSRP was the rear console.
I took one look at the depession on the seatback and the width of the console and figured there had to be a way to sqeeze another kid back there (I have 4kids). So I bought the car and joined this forum and after a quick search found out that "RugRatCoupe" had already made my dream a reality in his car.
Following his lead and advice I removed the rear console, found a local trim shop and brought the pictures of his car in for clarification. They fixed me up with a great matching custom "pleather" seat for about $130 and I ordered a lap belt from Grubbs for another $38 and Voila! 5-seater coupe!
The kids love the center seat because it is higher than the other two and affords better visibility. My pad ended up higher than RugRatCoupe's - it more closely mirrors the profile of the console. Not my original intent, but the extra padding can't hurt.
Now I have a sports car with great looks, performance and the seating I need.

Another close-up of the pad and belt. The belt came from a pathfinder and it even says "center" on it.

Sweet. Do you kno if there is a way to have no bump at all? I have no use for the back seats in my car, but I don't like the center console at all. I would love to take it off. And have it look there was nothing there.

g35don40,
Great job man. I guess we're probably the only Two 5 Seat Coupes on the Forum.
Take Care,

StudlyMobile,
Thanks, We have a 2002 Honda Odyssey w/ Leather & DVD for our 3 Kids, that we use 90% of the time for our family transpotation. But on the few occations when we need, or want to use the "G" it doubles our options...

Re: 2nd 5-seater coupe Pics
It snaps in, just work your fingers down each side between the rear seat bolsters & the Console in line at about where the top of the drink holder door shuts. Once you've found the bottom edge , Pull Straight Up (these Snap Vertically) & you'll hear it unsnap. Then after the front is loose, Pull the entire console Toward the Front of the car. There are two more snap in attachments at the back of the console (These Snap Horizontally). It's kinda tuff to remove the first time, but it'll come out...
