Steering Wheel Vibration
I have about 1000 miles on my 2004 Coupe and have noticed a slight vibration in my steering....Is this just the way the steering and suspension are set up or have I knocked my alignement out ALREADY

Re: Steering Wheel Vibration
Vibration on the steering maybe caused by a number of things, but the main thing you should look at is the balance of the tires. If the vibration is happening while you are just driving normally then that could be the likely cause. When it happens when you're braking then it could be your rotors are warped. If the rotors are warped then take it back to the dealer and tell them to resurface it for you. You can do the same for the balancing or you can just take it to a tire shop and have the tires balance. Hope this helps you.

Re: Steering Wheel Vibration
Our rotors arent technically warping (in most cases), they are wearing unevenly.. but the net effect is the same. Get your wheels balanced on a Hunter balancer with a radial pull sensor. if that doesnt do it, check the rotors.

Re: Steering Wheel Vibration
Although it may indeed be a balancing problem, it may be something else that may not be a problem but just the inherent design of the car. I've noticed the vibration too, and it seems to vary based on the road way surface. The pilot sports are perhaps too good at picking up the surface irregularities in the roadway. Compound that with the fact that the car is tightly sprung . . .then you get vibration on all but the smoothest roadways . . .
I would get it checked out, but if everything checks out . . .then maybe its an inherent quality in the car.
One last thing. I noticed that my car needs to break in at different speeds. When I first got the car and hit 70mph I felt a vibration as if the car needed to get used to that speed. Then it smoothed out over time. Same thing happened with 80mph . .vibration in the beginning, but now its smooth. 100mph, I'm getting vibration and I don't drive at that speed often to give the car a chance to break itself in to that speed.
I don't know if this makes sense, but its an observation I've made with the G.

Re: Steering Wheel Vibration
went over a 100, and didn't feel any vibration. I'd recommend you get it checked out. Good luck.
