seeing those accidents where someone isnt paying attention pisses me off..

Firestone isn't an insurance company, they are a mechanic of sorts. They are responsible to replace whatever they damage they cause. They wont total a car.

Glad that everyone is fine. Don't worry about the car. The insurance will replace it. Take care.

I'm glad to hear you and your passenger are okay. I hope the lady that hit you is also okay. Geico is a great insurance company and should handle everything for you. You might ask them when the adjustor will be looking at the car and meet with him there, I did that when my husband rolled our jeep off a cliff last year and totalled it. It helps to let him know about the extra things the car has on it when he's doing an estimate. You might ask about a rental car in the meantime, the other parties insurance should pay for it even if she doesn't have rental insurance it's part of the claim for your inconvenience. Worse case is you may have to pay and be reimbursed for it. Also be sure to document EVERYTHING while you have fresh memories, and keep receipts for everything from asprin to ice packs. Sorry about the car, but grateful your okay.

I just got a call from the insurance adjuster. They are calling it an obvious total. Because of the value of the car he has to run it up the chain, but he said totaled.

Make sure you look into a diminished value claim. It works for cars being totaled as well as damaged. I just got into a wreck as well but mine won't be totaled. This is one site I found www.appraisalgroupofamerica.com . I can't say if they are worth it or not, mine is still getting fixed so I have to wait until they are finished to get a final estimate. Most insurance companies will give you a low ball amount, this company claims to be able to get you back more money, for a fee of course. I didn't know anything about this until I posted my pics up on this site and another member told me about diminished value.

I think I'm going to purchase a 2007 fully loaded G35 Sedan 6MT as a replacement. I got one as a loaner a few weeks ago and I loved it.
