Bad cabin smell in 04 G35 coupe

Well i bought my G35 like 3 weeks ago

Its a 2004 OB G35 coupe w/ 22k miles

Ok so the problem:

When im driving at a constant speed everything is fine.

When i decide to (more or less floor it) to pass another car on (for example)

I get a weird smell come in to the cabin of the car. It almost smells between burnt rubber and tar, it kinda sucks. I took it to the dealership and they didnt find anything wrong. But it still smells.

Do you guys have an clue to what this smell is and what can be causing it.

Thanks

I was the previous owner of your car before you bought it. I am a chimney sweeper by profession. J/K.

Did you check the In-Cabin filter to make sure there isn't all kinds of soot and other debris stuck in it?

You could also have a plastic bag or something that melted onto your exhaust somewhere under the car and is constantly burning once it heats up. Does it do the smell the second you start the car up, or only once the car gets fully warmed up?... does the smell occur both when you have the AC on and also when you just have the Heat on?

the car is an AT, and it smells only wen i floor it, other than this, driving at constants speeds you smell nothing.

I doubt its a bag. i thought it mite be the cabin filter as well, but it only smells when i floor it. If it was the cabin filter than it would smell all the time.

It puzzles me...

Hmm.... your car should be good and worn in by that many miles. I remember the first time I ever took my car up to a seriously fast highway test at like 3K miles on it, it made some strange smells.... but now it doesn't do that anymore on a high speed jaunt.

Vexxing, indeed.

Perhaps there is something loose in the engine bay that is being launched back and melting against the exhaust manifolds or one of the exhaust pipes when you get on the gas hard... loose wire, a hose, or something. I'd start checking around for dangerously close parts, or loose hanging/swinging parts in the engine bay... particularly around the exhaust components and under the car.

Could be just carbon build up from the previous owner. Obviously the car was not run hard so every once in a while when it's floored carbon build up will start to burn up. Try flooring a few more times it should clear the valves. What kind of gas do you put in your car? Try putting some additive in it to help it along. If still persist after a few tank full then obviously something else is wrong with the car. Goodluck I hope you find the culprit.

If you think it's carbon, you could always Seafoam it.

Change the cabin filter, there's no telling after 5+ years what might have crawled in there. It's not mileage with your G but time and if the previous owner didn't keep your G in the garage who knows what's in the cabin filter....

I just bought the 05 G coupe manual with 53,000 miles on it, and everytime I floor it, it make a very bad smell. first time, I thought I burned the tires, but the smell didn't go away till the next day. the second time I did that, it smell like rubber burn again and I assumed it was because of the clutch worn out since the clutch didn't feel right to me, but I could be wrong since I just bought this car a more than a week. I hope the clutch is still in good condition. does anyone here experience the same thing with the clutch. the clutch in my car doesn't immediate respond when I release it and press the gas pedal until I release it more than half way of the clutch pedal. weird....
