Will there ever be a AWD Coupe?

Just wondering...

I live in Denver, Colorado; where there is alot of snow. I test drove both cars in snow. And the X performs real well and I can't say the same for the coupe. However, I do like the looks of the coupe alot better.

The subject of the possibility of an AWD coupe has been convered extensively in past posts. Do a search on it. General consensus is that its very unlikely. If you're worried about snow performance, get the G35 coupe and then a set of Blizzaks LM-22 tires and you'll be set. The G35 handles as well as a SUV with the Blizzaks.

I'm sure there is one or in the making in a far off land called Japan. Will it come to the US? I don't see why not with AWD becomming a very popular thing. I'm sure nissan wants to compete with the Audi quattro A4, Subaru WRX and Mitsubishit EVO.

Re: Will there ever be a AWD Coupe?

I live in Montréal where we have much more snow than in Denver and i drive a G in winter. Even with the best winter tires in the market, the car is just ok (not great, just ok) in the white stuff. You can easily get stuck in deep snow. I think it wouldn't be a big problem for Infiniti to build an AWD version of the coupe as they did for the sedan. I hope an AWD version of the coupe will be available for 2005.

I hope they do... because I drive an audi a4, and I live in Toronto, don't know what I'd do without my precious AWD.

Re: Will there ever be a AWD Coupe?

doubt it.
look at the bmw lines.
convert - rwd
coupe - rwd
sedan - rwd AND awd
wagon - rwd AND awd

the coupe, convert and sedan all come in both 2.5 and 3.0 engines.
the wagon only comes 2.5.

i guess they figure if you are a sporty person, you don't want/need awd.
and if you buy a wagon, you don't need the faster car.

04 6mtC, DG - possibly most babied G on the board.

There will be someday, but probalby not in the next year or two. If you look, there should be the buldges and humps under the car to fit all of the AWD equipment from the FX35, just on the G35x. That's basically what they did with the G35x sedan.... It could be done on a coupe, but I don't think you'll see it until the car gets redesigned in a few years.
