Oh and yeah, some *** hit me from behind and messed up my bumper big time. Needed a new one.

you seriously don't know what you are talking about do you. Mines still a work in progress, but here's a little teaser of my crooked cutoff.

Also, there's no crazyglue involved, and no dust, thats what gloves and compressed air is for.
I certainly don't see "fogging like a mother" or "dust in these headlights I retroed.

Or how about IvoryGT's work

Care to show me the amazing output of your BMW now

Ya, I brought my car in to Infinit yesterday and they told me about the recall. They checked mine and said they were fine - no need to replace.

I just got mine replace by infiniti and i see no difference at all. What's the deal with this recall. Also the damn idiots put the city lights back in the car so i have to take it out again this weekend.

Can anybody tell me what the benefit was for me to take it down there. And how come the 05 headlights look more blue/white compared to my projectors.

After getting the headlights replaced by the dealer, I checked my cutoffs and the right side is a bit higher than the passenger side. How can I fix this?

the recall was because the aim of the headlights were off and the driver's side cutoff was too high and out of spce for DOT. If the cutoffs dont line up, then it is an installation/aiming error on the dealership's part. You can fix it yourself with the aiming screws on the back, and by adjusting the mounting points and making sure the headlights are flushed with the surrounding panels.
As for the difference in color, the 05's use a d2r bulb which colorshift's over time giving the bluer color. The 06 projectors use a 85122+ bulb which is yellower in color, and resists colorshifting more and thus appears whiter. The lense on the projector is also fresneled which blurs the cutoff slightly and doesn't allow for the color to be produced at the cutoff like other clear lensed projectors such as the tsx's. A lense swap and color mod can fix this however.

Thanks for the feedback! Ok so how much does the lens swap and color swap cost? Is this something that an average person can do by himself?

By the way I got the city lights out... Does anybody know if that can cause me to get a ticket?

I just received my '06 headlight letter recall today and have the feeling that my local dealership is going to make it worse.
I don't like taking my car into service with those idiots.

Can fellow members mention their headlight aim difference after a dealership replaced their headlights?
