What a ****ty Day....

Well yesterday, I started to install the crawford hfc that I got off of someone from here. When I bought them I asked the guy if they came with hardware (nuts and bolts). He told me know you use the same ones that come off the original cats. I assumed it was true so I said ok whatever. So yesterday I clear my day and give myself a couple hours to install them myself. I was already frustrated after having to go back and forth from Pepboys to get extentions, then I went back to get a elbow connection. then I almost went back to get another connection but I got all the bolts to break loose.

So I get a little excited and get underneath and get the driver side Cat off the car. I look and nope I cant use the original stuff. So i spent the whole day for nothing.

I made the best of it, and changed my oil with the German Catrol Synthetic, and put everything back together. What a mess tho.

I DO NOT recommend this for anyone by themselves. It is not something easy to do especially if you are not sure or dont know what you are doing.

I didn't and just went into it head first. but thats just me. LOL... atleast now I know how to get to all the bolts, so it should only take like an hour to do it when I go buy the nuts and bolts today.

it shouldn't be a big deal now, I have a place by my house that carries ALL bolts possible. So I should have a hard time getting some 14mm bolts.

I replaced alot of my bolts when I was rebuilding one of my previous honda's

on the bright side, you spent more quality time with your adorable car. I know what you mean. My dad just got a older model of Nissan SUV and over this weekend, my brother and him tried to tune up the whole thing. Anyhow, after spent a whole sat and half of Sunday, they gave up because first the car was good then something was wrong. So now, my dad takes a day off on this monday to work on it. My brother wishes there is a "reset" button to go back last sat morning before they did anything....I am sure you would like that button too!!!

lol. I had to go buy three 10" extentions when I did Ahero's car. hahaha. it was a PITA the first time. Then when i did yolkyolkyolk's cars, it was a breeze. the hardest part is reaching the bolts.

yeah I bought a 20'' and a 10'' extention for my 1/2'' ratchet set, then a 1/2 ratchet "u" joint, then a 1/2'' to 3/8'' conversion, then a 14mm extended socket.

The reason i went with 1/2'' is cuz i have a 1/2'' socket 20'' long breaker bar plus 1/2'' torque wrench.

QUestion what is the torque on the bolts for the cats.
