curbed wheels

damn it!!!... i took my car into the dealer to fix my passenger window.. and when i picked it up wednesday, i did a general inspection to make sure everything was ok but i was in a rush so i didnt look at everything closely like i would normally do.. i just noticed today that the whole lips on both driver side wheels are effin curbed... i called the dealer today to see what they can do but it has been 2 days and doesnt look good... ****!!!

So you called the dealer and it has been 2 days. What exactly does that mean? What happened when you called?

well.. i picked up the car wednesday night but i didnt notice the curb rash until Friday afternoon after i got off work.. it was 2 days after i picked up my car that i noticed the rash and the delaer doesnt know what can happen in 2 days.. i doubt theyre gonna fix it but i called them anyway just to try to see what they were willing to do.. the drive manager i go to has always been good to me so thats why i gave calling im a shot to see if they would do anything... he checking his records to see if he marked any damage rash when i brought it in and told me he would call me either today r monday.. hope they fix my volks but i doubt it =/....

so the lesson is check everything on your ca.. even if you're in hurrry

Rims are the first thing you want to look at when picking your car up from the dealer(Live and learn I guess).

Our dealers have a tendancy to screw up the sockets around where the wheel lugs go by overspinning them with the wrench in the socket and taking off all the paint. I actually would recommend taking pictures of your rims before you bring the car into them, just in case they screw something up.. you have some proof other than the paperwork that their inspection guy fills out when you first bring it in to them.

2 days after the repair work.. I dunno, I guess it all depends on how much they value you as a customer as to whether or not they fix it. 2 days is quite a long time not to notice that. Good luck with it.

yea.. i know waht you mean^^^ i usually do look very carefully at my rims when i pik it up from the dealer as well as my whole car but i was just in a hurry, just got out of a meeting after work trying to get home for dinner.. the drive manager always does a good job inspecting the car when i drop it off and on his/my paper work it shows no rash which was right..and i know its been 2 days but it doesnt hurt to try.

I know how you feel. Same thing happened to me with my STi, but it was one wheel. I did a walk around, but missed it because the wheels were so dirty with brake dust and it was night time under fluorescent lights. Saw it two days later when I was doing a tire rotation. I called the dealer and they didn't even call me back.

Caught the curbage on my wife's G35 though. The scratched the front wheel and knicked the back one.
