Will an aftermarket exhaust void or affect the manufacturers warranty? How can I go about finding out? Thanks.

 

If you mean in terms of the "cars entire warranty" the answer is no.

Yes, in terms voiding the any part of the warranty, engine, or otherwise, will it? Will Infiniti confirm that for me?

 

I seriously doubt that most Infiniti dealers would officially ie. on paper, comment on this. I think it boils down to how mod-friendly the dealership is. Obviously, if you install an aftermarket exhaust, Infiniti will no longer service any exhaust problems you have under warranty. If you develop any engine problems, they would have to prove that your aftermarket exhaust caused or contributed to the problem. Could mean a major headache for you though. I guess it boils down to mod at your own risk.

 

They would have to prove that the exhaust caused the failure in order to deny warranty work. Hundreds of people have aftermarket exhausts on G's and Z's and I can't think of a single case where an exhaust caused a serious problem. As far as mods go, the risk with an exhaust is very, very low.

Blaming the exhaust for some kind of engine problem would be like blaming your butt for a cavity in your tooth. Or something like that.
