Yep. Seven people's lives wasted b/c of speeding. SAD. My brother called me yesterday to tell me he saw the car and it was a pancake! No seatbelts! There was some question as to whether or not the police man who gave chase was at fault at all - the NCHP said no. I know CA has a no chase policy, right? I think everywhere should be like that. They have your plates and it gets people killed when there are high speed chases.
In regard to the forum behaviour, this is a great forum and we all should be appreciative of the effort of our moderators and the fact that it's free. My thx / 3 cnts

 

Hey bro, I saw that crash on the news and wondered how exuberantly the police were chasing. The report I heard was that they were not chasing at least not very closely, and had backed right off.
There does seem to be a large # of unnecessary chases. I read somewhere that the chances of a fatality in a car chase is unbelievably high, as is the # of collateral deaths.
After working in the Emergency Services for 25 yrs, I can tell you first hand that some of those crashes are absolutely heartbreaking and horrendous.
